This is the one I was thinking of.

Huge thanks, just what I was looking for! It is not as bad as I had imagined, but I still prefer a regular gauge cluster. I do not hate it enough to want to replace it, but if given the option for no additional cost I would opt for a standard gauge cluster. As NSTG8R said, the spacing needs work. No need using the real estate for a 200 MPH speedo when looking at closer to a 100 - 120 MPH top speed. If it stays at the current ratio, I would probably opt for a heads-up display too.

The smaller your vehicle, the less respect you get from other drivers. I had no problem in my F-350. But in the same town, drivers are horrible when I'm in my Prius Hybrid. I really wonder if they'll give me enough room for the front wheels of the Elio when they inevitably pass me for having the audacity to obey the speed limit.

This is true. I have personally found that installing a real (big rig) AIR HORN, does bring a measure of respect. OK, maybe not respect, but they cannot deny your presence! ;)
As for people not "seeing the outriggers" and passing too close, I don't think your fears have any basis. In over thirty years of riding street bikes, I have never had anyone try and pass me while "sharing my lane." Yes, there have been times when they would "change lanes" into my space because they weren't paying attention (usually, texting) and didn't know I was there, but this also still happens while I am driving my car or truck. Anyone who "deliberately" passes you partially in your lane is driving too aggressively (road rage) and is subject to fines, as I don't believe "lane sharing" is legal anywhere in the US. THIS is when your dash cam pays for itself! ;)

This is the one I was thinking of.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Speedo needs ticks every 5mph instead of 10, and the cluster needs either a digital temp gauge or battery voltage (or both?) on the left side to mirror where the gas gauge is on the right.

I love the Elgin, and I'm quite looking forward to seeing it in action in my own Elio! And even if they don't change anything about it, I'll still like it. But I'd like it more if it was just that little bit more useful :)

Still don't hate it!:D
One improvement they could make is to remove the speedo mph above 100, and space the remaining numbers out to allow for a more accurate indication of the speeds people will actually be travelling at. Honestly, the ONLY time an Elio will exceed 120mph, is if it's falling off a very large cliff.
Not true. It can hit this speed when the trucker behind you decides to give you a little "love tap" for a couple of dozen miles.

LOL! That might do it! But if a trucker tries to give me a "love tap" in ANY vehicle I'm driving, he'd better hope that his truck came equipped from the factory with a bulletproof windshield! ;):D

I'm thinking I can fit a small bubble machine behind the rear decklid, so as long as I have a way to remotely lift the hatch I could shower the trucker with bubbles.

Bubbles? Way to passive to project your disdain for ass-riding [HEY!...I'm talking about tailgaters, folks!]. ;)

On a Porsche forum I belong to, a guy a while back rigged an extra windshield washer bottle filled with glycerin, and routed to the exhaust. Hit the button, instant huge smokescreen. No doubt in my mind it's as illegal as h*ll, but then again, nothing backs you up faster from a vehicle going down the road than one that looks like it might just be on fire!

Rage is definitely the norm around shift change and lane sharing is second only to running you off the road if you dare to drive in a sane manner.

I know someone who set their diesel pickup to blow high clouds of black smoke. I was behind him once and could not even see him.
A cop (California) stopped him and did not write him a ticket, but reported him to the EPA who send him a nasty gram.
I told him he should frame the letter.
