FYI. that internet form everyone sent in will not hold up in court. No one witnessed who sent it in and you have no signed contract.
BUT the site does say $6800.00 and Paul has been on TV dozens of times saying it. A GOOD LAWYER (if there is one) would win that case.

So now you are advocating we dishonestly renege on our agreement to the T&Cs which clearly state the price is not guaranteed?
I have more personal integrity than that.
Sad for you (and your friends and business partners) if you don't.

One should not talk about what will or won't stand up in court unless they are a lawyer. Which I assume you are not with the inclusion of your disparaging comment about there being a 'GOODLAWYER.' There was offer, acceptance and consideration, when I took contract law these were the three requirements for a contract. You might be surprised as to what can be a contract. Don't follow the blind they often end up in the wrong place.

I expected my Elio to be based priced, less prep.,shipping, taxes to be $6800. Less my $1500 DP and adding automatic I should be around that. Having to consider rising costs, if so, by the time it comes, it won't be $6800. Good start point. Drew me into the trap! Still wanting it.
,

Have the doctors asked you about adjusting your meds? how in the h_ _l, (except in your dreams), could you possibly expect to Elio ( or Anythivehicle purchase absorb the basic charges that must be paid, some of them different state to state. You seem able to articulate, and I'm starting to get the vib, that you are just doing this to get a response like mine. You will be the first I block. Up until now most if not all posts express a point of view, which many I don't agree with, but are reality based

If you guys don't behave yourselves, Goofy1 may have to intervene so be nice!:D I think overall it's still a healthy discussions/arguments worth taking on! I'm sure EM have their own legal lawyers and have reviewed everything before they release any info. INCLUDING their CLAIMED $6,800.00 base price which of course does not include all the necessary taxes, licenses, del. charges, etc. and options. Having said that, advertising that price all over the media including their own website without any fine print saying PRICE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE, or PRICE NOT GUARANTEED just to protect themselves from false claims or possible lawsuits only means that EM is very confident that they can actually sell the Basic ELIO for that price! ;)

Another industry evolved be cause of JIT, sub suppliers that saw an opportunity to inventory parts and keep the economy of greater production numbers would inventory parts based on expected production. They get a lower price for bigger production run and less tooling change over and end manufacturer gets a safety net on parts inventory. The math is somewhat easy by calculating holding costs against economy of scale.
