Elio Price Discussion, $6800?

There are no DEALERS so there is no dealer prep.
If you pick it up at the plant no shipping
Tax title and license are not part of the price, and you can't buy any car without them.

Since ELIO has no dealers, I was trying to just make a comparison to the usual way dealers do business

my thoughts exactly.. if you pick it up at the plant ( I intend too) no dealer prep.
no shipping.

There are those of us out there that are counting on the $6800.00 price as one of the reasons we are buying the Elio.

the last comment attributed to Paul Elio stated they were within $500 of the projected $6,800 .... I have no doubt that they will make every effort to hit the $6,800 for those with reservations .... I also have little doubt that over time the base price will have to go up .... as others have noted, the $6,800 is the target price for the vehicle and doesn't include tax, title, or tag .... those charges will vary by state .... dealer prep is has to be taken care of but I haven't heard any definitive statement on how the associated cost will be taken care of .... it may well be figured into the base price but who knows ???

Paul has said many times on TV the cost would be $6800.00, NOT the target price.

At McDonalds...you got the price at $1.00 now you say that's the target price.

Even there web site doesn't say TARGET PRICE.

So just for the record, it's clear to everybody that the price of a BASIC ELIO is $6,800.00. It's also clear to everybody (I hope) that YOU'RE NOT GETTING THAT PRICE OUT THE DOOR w/out adding all the necessary taxes, etc. Make no illusion of that! EM is well aware of the repercussion of not meeting that price so let's be clear that production will not start until they meet that goal! I think that's crystal!

I expected my Elio to be based priced, less prep.,shipping, taxes to be $6800. Less my $1500 DP and adding automatic I should be around that. Having to consider rising costs, if so, by the time it comes, it won't be $6800. Good start point. Drew me into the trap! Still wanting it.

I'm all about facts. It's a fact nobody has promised the Elio would be delivered for $6800 out the door. It's a fact nobody promised the base price would even be $6800. It's a target, not a promise. "GET REAL."

That's the advantage of making the non-refundable 1K all in! Now we have $1,500. to cover the additional taxes, delivery charges, etc. So you're absolutely right on, I might just get mine at $6,800.00 OUT THE DOOR! My wife will have some options on her ELIO so I'll definitely be paying more!
