Bullying someone to save their money isn't really bullying. its better than lying/mislead which could be happening with Elio Motors.

They have pushed back dates. Supposedly had a plant locked in for a while, but just finally got approved.

Elio Motors is claiming 84MPG without real world tests. 5 star rating without real tests. The dash is has not even been decided. They ask you for money, but there really aren't any answers.

Can anyone tell me the final gear ratio for the Elio? If not then I know you can't tell me they will get those MPGs.

All of this is based on hope an trust. Many people want facts and solid evidence, but for some hope and trust is enough....

Don't get all pissy because someone isn't happy that they gave Elio $1,000 and have seen bad news/little progress.

Yes there is, what I'm saying is you wouldn't live/work where you do without modern transportation. I might be in the minority here, but I don't think a complete change of life style is impossible, I hope not.

Well, without the modern highway system, my job wouldn't even exist, regardless of the length of the commute.
At the end of the day, delays are a bigger problem for me than bankruptcy and never getting built. When I thought the Elio was getting built this year, that was perfect. I can baby my car along for another 30,000 miles.
When production was pushed back to early next year and I figured out that it would take a year to get to me, I started to get worried if my car would last that long.
Now, it's likely that I wouldn't get my hands on one until at least Christmas 2016 if not early 2017. I have very real doubts that my 18 year old Chrysler that leaks oil and tranny fluid and has major body damage, is going to he able to take another 60,000+ miles. It is going to die on me while the Elio is still just a glimmer in our eyes. At that point, I have to buy another car and when the Elio is finally produced, I will not be in the market for a car any more.

I suspect that there are others that are in the same situation and it is unfortunate. However I hope you will continue to support the development of this historic vehicle.

Just out of curiosity did you put a down payment on your 2003 harley in the year 2000 when you "started your waiting" or did you reserve in 2003 and did Harley tell you afterwards there would be an 18 month delay and maybe mention they are 150 million bucks short of funds needed to make your 100th annisvery beauty? I would not compare Elio to harley but to each their own opinion wise.

Sounds like the airlines, everytime I get on a plane just before take off someone comes over the speaker saying "we'd like to thank you for traveling with us" but they never do thank anyone!.. They also use the phraise "near miss" which means they actually hit ! Were you ever late and nearly missed your flight? Meaning you almost were too late but didn't miss it ! Think about it.Just a little humor. But it's ok if ya hate me. When I get my number I'll take your 550 offer and might have number 3486 available.Oh if you look at thread you will find another person who became ill after making his deposit asking 800 for his reservation, you might talk him down.

Well I got a better deal for you, uncle M said you can have is which is 3486 and mine if and when I get it for 1000 dollars.. Deal? That way he will only LOSE a grand. You save a hundred or thousand depending on how you look at it. He also said he'd offer you 3 grand to buy them back if Elio actually produces.
