In the year 2000 I started my wait for my 2003 100th Anniversary Harley Davidson Fat Boy. I took delivery after waiting 2 years and eight months. It was well worth the wait. So far I've been waiting two months for the Elio. I'll wait. My complimentary Harley 100th Anniversary t-shirt was considerably more than my $100 Elio shirt.

I'll wait. I see this as an opportunity of a life time. There is no law that says most of us can't ride scooters and bilkes for transportation, as do many people on earth.

Well, there IS a law that says I can't ride them on the interstate, which is 60 miles of my commute.

Yes there is, what I'm saying is you wouldn't live/work where you do without modern transportation. I might be in the minority here, but I don't think a complete change of life style is impossible, I hope not.

I guess what I'm saying is I don't believe in this country as much as I used to.

The elio will be built, but maybe by another company who buys out Mr. Elio. It is too good of a vehicle not to make it to the public...but at what cost? Basically since January 2013, EM has advertised the $6800 price. Now, it will be 2016 when the elios start rolling. I would think there would be at least a 10% increase in cost of the elio which would put it around $7500, especially if EM says now, they are within $300 of the $6800 price. This would put it at the $9000-$10,000 or more OTD. Would the average price of 10K drive away customers? In our area the chevy spark is advertised at $9999, with 4 wheels and 4 passengers and 40+ mpg. I believe this wwill becme the main issue. I also am worried that some states attorney general will want to review the $6800 price in a bait and switch type advertising...hope that doesn't happen folks.

I hope so. You may notice Elio, meaning Paul Elio has quoted $6800 since 2008 and every few weeks they add something to the standard list, the latest was power steering.The smartest people in here are those who put up a 100 refundable deposit. At this point I'm thinking good luck with getting money back deposited in either category.Here is a challenge , maybe someone who has a refundable should ask for a refund just to see what happens.

You are doing better than I, I NEVER got a T-shirt, or a bumper sticker, Or a pat-on-the-back. Just an issued number e-mail. Guess that's what is most important.
