On production # 11346 the black portions of the fender skirts will be getting a generous application of black Scotchlite. If they can't see the orange skirts during the day I had no hope to go unscathed. I have black Scotchlite on the side bags of my Kawasaki Concours. It's nearly invisible by day but lights up a bright bluish white at night.

And it didn't screw up the sell price of the vehicle, or add complexity to the wiring harness, or mess up aerodynamics, and I didn't have to ask anyone else for permission to do it.

Rant over.

Keeping the intended sell price in mind, the battery should be an ordinary flooded lead-acid type with a capacity of around 24 ampere-hours. If a 1800cc Honda Goldwing (with electric reverse) can get by with 20 ampere-hours, we'll do just fine with 24. This will give the backyard engineers an opportunity to spend $250 on an exotic lithium iron phosphate battery and shave 0.03 seconds off of their 0-60 mph time.

There's quite a list. I'll start with a handful, then see what you guys come up with.

1. Plastic or Metal body panels? (officially in the air, but I'll give 10 to 1 it's metal)
2. Windshield washer type
3. Formal selling price of the base car (needed before ATVM can proceed -- DOE needs this to evaluate the financial self-sufficiency of the company)
4. ATVM itself, of course.
5. Battery capacity and location

OK, over to you.
With the unique shape and unknown name, being made of plastic could have the public saying the Elio was made by Mattel. ( I still prefer plastic)

Unknowns... to get back on track. We know the tires will be produced by Continental IN the USA. So, the tires are figured out... so are the wheels.
11. Will Elio be delivering the reservation models to people's houses? They had said at one time that they would as they don't have retail centers yet.
12. What side will the seatbelt be on?
13. How long after they build the 100 at Shreveport will they start production for reservationists?
14. Will West Virginia EVER get rid of their helmet requirement?

I'm pretty sure the seatbelt will be mounted on the left side, like the driver side seatbelt is typically mounted in a car. I could have sworn somebody posted official word from EM on this subject...

I think I remember reading that they had wanted to put the seatbelt on the right side, but were told they couldn't for safety reasons. As I understand, wouldn't want it to come unlatched and you slide out the door. "Better" chance you stay put if the unlatched belt were on the opposite side from the door.

They might deliver the very first reservation Elio to the buyer's actual house. For a photo-op and press promo. But unless your reservation # is 000001, you'll most likely need to pick up your Elio from somewhere.

I understood there will be marshalling locations around the country. You will need to choose the one closest to you and that is where you will "take delivery".

The marshaling centers are supposed to assemble the options and then deliver your the Elio to your nearest store. BUT, at one point, Paul said they would probably deliver right to your door till they get facilities set up.
