There was a time delay on the lights switching off, but it wasn't a good idea to linger in the toilet cubicle...

I have experienced this problem a number of times. There is nothing like being caught with your pants around your ankles inside a pitch black windowless room. You are left sitting there wondering if anyone will come in anytime soon and trigger the lights or you get the opportunity to try and clean up in the dark and move around outside the stall so the sensor will turn the damn lights back on.:rolleyes::D

Another annoying use of sensors for energy conservation is that more and more hotel rooms are using sensors to determine if you are in the room during the day and if not they turn down the HVAC system. I have had several very annoyed conversations with hotel managers after having to work all night and climbing into bed in the morning only to discover I will be waking up every hour as I am too hot or cold thanks to the heating or A/C being switched off as I am sleeping and not moving about the room.

This used to be more common in the US than Europe as many European hotels required you to insert your key card in a slot to activate the room's systems. This system is easy to bypass by using an extra room card or any other card which fit in the slot. However I assume the hotels have caught onto this and in recent years have begun installing the automatic sensor based systems.:(

This is why God and Steve Jobs created the iPhone with a built in flashlight app! :)

I had a fleeting vision of Goofyone hopping around outside the stalls, flapping his arms up and down, with his trousers round his ankles....

I think in UK you'd end up getting tazered and made to sign the sex offenders register! But at least it would be an Eco friendly situation, LOL!! :D

10-4, maybe "HATE" was a bit strong, and after a re-read, it does come off as a little "Whaaa, I can't have my way!"...Extremely aggravated would be more appropriate. I think my extreme aggravation is partly stemming from some brand-new 'rules' we have to abide by at work "in the name of safety".

Listen to this - Was: We have all the work areas marked off by bright yellow lines. Cross the lines, put your safety glasses on...makes sense, no problem, grinding and drilling metal in there...you're a dip if you don't wear them.

Now [as of 2 weeks ago]: As SOON as you enter the building safety glasses MUST be worn or risk getting a CAM (three CAMS, you're fired!). It's a good 100 yds. from the door I enter to the "shop floor", but I'm 'required by company mandate' to drop everything I'm carrying to put on my safety glasses to get my breakfast at the cafeteria o_O...and since everyone that works on the shop floor also eats their lunch on the shop floor, you, under threat of getting a CAM, MUST wear your safety glasses while you eat. Okay, I can shovel food as good as the next guy, I've never felt my eyes were at risk with a fork in my hand.

There's another "rule" about Ipod and cellphone usage that's just as ridiculous, and all in the name of 'safety', but I've got to get ready for work and can't go in depth on it [now where did I put those safety glasses?]

End re-rant... I feel better now.:)
The ridiculous iPod & iPhone rule comment caught my eye. My policy as an employer would be employees check them in when punching in to work and pick them up when they check out for the day. This will no doubt be EM's policy for plant workers to eliminate employee's hands free personal phone conversations while building our Elios.
