Waffling On Base Price. Can They Make $6,800?

At the risk of cross posting, the language in the email "starting price excluding blah blah blah" struck me as interesting because it does NOT say "base price."

"Starting price" = "Base price" You "start" with the "base" price, then add options.

This is the way it's been for al long as I can remember.

Tilt wheel; I've been told before by EM that it will be standard; telescopic was not, but they were considering it (cost dependent).
Recline will be standard, however the seat will be modified so that you can operate it without opening the door

You have to design the lower edge of the dash and heater box to accommodate any upward tilt. It's not just a matter of slapping a tilt wheel into the car as a replacement -- unless the design work has been done up front to make it work.

Yea... Like the '78 Olds Cutlass tilt steering column that I swapped into a '64 Chevy C-10 pickup.

Not all tilt wheels have a "knuckle" that they tilt at; there are some (like a Dodge) that the column moves up and down; the pivot point is where the column meets the firewall, or in some cases about halfway between the firewall and the steering wheel; the column doesn't move very far (in my Nitro it's 1.75") but it gives you enough angle to take on a different feel.
