You can register using your Google, Facebook, or Twitter account, just click here.WOW. And I thought the Elgin dash was ugly.that's the old 1. New hotness
No offense, but if your attitude is I will take it however Paul makes it with no input or opinions, then why would you be here?well I'm out of here it's XI:XXXII no snack after reading this thread
I'm done with this thread watching perfectly reasonable people acting like kids-
It's the same old camel story, built by committee, let it rest- It's Paul's baby and he can dress it anyway he wants.
...............unless you had wished for a long life! I'm all in on Chrome Yellow! It is a rare thing to be in on the beginnings of a true "concept car." Pretty interesting to read the passion stirred by dashboards, gas caps and paint jobs. The energy, intelligence and experience displayed on this forum indicate a sharp crowd that manages multi-perspective discussions in a fairly peaceful manner. It is quite curious that more Elio-owners aren't on here.
It is because I am in the unique position of being a pre-buyer of an as-yet unfinished design that I feel the freedom to "wish" for it to be a certain way. We are usually offered a basic model with a book of options to choose from.
So, yeah, I do wish I could pick the dash, I do wish I could get my Elio in chrome yellow, BUT- if I got everything I ever wished for, I'd have been dead many years ago.....
"I will take it however...." IS MY" input and opinion."No offense, but if your attitude is I will take it however Paul makes it with no input or opinions, then why would you be here?
I used to adjust all engine and transmission instruments on the UH1 helicopters so when everything was normal all the needles pointed straight up. A 1/4 second glance would tell all you need to know. Any needle not pointing to 12:00 would be noticed instantly and might require a closer look.
I opened an account on farcebook and deactivated it within minutes.,
I just realized that we've bigger fish to fry.
I did a Google for "Elio Facebook", and 3rd in the results was "Elio Motors Complaints".
It is a VERY scary place. It's become the place where all the V. Dunns (and worse) hang out.
It's no wonder the reservations won't bump up above 100/day.
This is also probably why we haven't seen a lot of haters here lately.
Don't dismiss this. That site is getting enough traffic to rate 3rd in a blind search!
On top of that, other than the spattering of official Elio Motors links, a lot of what came up were old negative hack jobs by the likes of Jo Borras.
Put yourself in the public's place. That's what people researching the Elio are finding.
I've already thrown the dice and I'm extremely happy with it.
Had I not, upon seeing all this, I probably wouldn't have, regardless of any progress.
The public is not finding a whole lot of (non-EM official site) positive content to balance it.
Nearly all of the postings on that site are absolutely venomous with no rebuttals.
A lot of people are claiming that they got refunds, but, of course, it's not stated whether they were all-ins or want-ins.
They're also using EM graphics and photos for lack of thier own content, presumably without permission.
I want a Farcebook page about as much as I want an abscess tooth.
But I think I'm going to have to open an account tonight.
That'll probably work until I get banned from the site.
Take a look. If you want to support the Elio and hedge your bet.
We need to get over there NOW!

smart move- from previous posts they didn't leave it on the board but went after people beyond thatI opened an account on farcebook and deactivated it within minutes.
I was quickly reminded of why I would prefer having an abscessed tooth.
There's just no way I'm going to give my real name in posts to that collective puddle of slime.
And there's certainly no way that I'm going to make the required information active on a site with it's record of security breeches.
I am truely sorry, but, as much as I want to, I can't help on this one.
Those that already have an account and don't mind mixing it up in that snake pit, God bless. You're braver than I am.
I feel extremely bad about it, but I've seen what can happen when FB goes wrong.
