Respectfully speaking, you are not an investor. You did not buy stock in the company. You read an agreement online which said that you understood that the product you were paying money for might never be built and that you might never receive the product. Somehow that does not sound like the description of an investor. You decided to put up money with no guarantee of any return and now you are complaining that you have no voice. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride. We will either get our new Elios or we won't. Taking your only engine and your only chassis and beating around the track while not on display is not a sensible strategy.
I for one, am sick of people here saying that noone has any stake in Elio, and it's none of our business what they are doing. "Just shut up and keep smiling 'till they get around to it". And for god's sake, don't anyone question ANYTHTING! This forum is nothing but a discussion of a car that doesn't exist yet! AND, in all reality, might NEVER exist. It IS possible, whether any of us like it or not, that the whole thing WILL fail utterly. No amount of smiling in silence OR armchair quarterbacking will change the outcome one IOTA!
So if you want to wave pom-poms and grin, DO SO. If people want to second guess every aspect of the build along the way, what is it hurting? Ignore them if it bothers you so much. It's still just a discussion of something that don't exist. So there's cheerleaders and nit-pickers on the same site. Why is that such a problem?
The stake we ALL have in the outcome is not the deposits and contract lingo so much as the fact that we ALL want the vehicle! In production, in our driveways, and on the road. Preferably yesterday. As for myself , I think the stakes are higher than just the influence to those of us here. I think this vehicle concept is a real game-changer on a GLOBAL scale. It could literally change the world, and I don't mean that to sound cliche. If it fails, I think we'll be stuck with whatever status quo the major auto makers dein to push on us for the remainder of the existence of personal transportation. As I see it, this is the ONE decent shot to show it can be done, and it SHOULD.
So, do I and everyone else have a stake in this project? Yes, we do. Do we have any LEGAL right to anything? No, of course not. BUT IT MATTERS! I think it's important! So if some members show their enthusiasm by taking an interest in all the details, and wish for more, and take the time to offer their opinions, both pro and con, that's GOOD! They're interested, and they think it matters enough to invest their attention. Why stifle the interest with the constant background drone of "shut up and wait", " stop questioning", and "you have no right to want...", among other hit favorites of some members. I am reminded of another hit you may be familiar with, " Let it be."

Well written (just an aside, and it might only be me, but could you capitalize "G*D)-thanks.
Aside from that, if it makes you so uncomfortable to "Listen" to the clarity that some folks have tried to offer to explain why it's none of our business, what where, when, and who EM operates , you can keep on rattling the bars, or open the door and walk into the sunlight, and enjoy the fresh air of positive ions and understand a basic tenant of the operation of American businesses that it's none of our business!

I believe that the reason things get heated between the cheerleaders and the nay-Sayers is a matter of respect and one-upmanship. We know that we put money in. We know it was a risk. But those that constantly say this isn't happening and that we are going to lose our money are in effect calling us stupid. We don't like that. If you don't want to put the money in, if you don't want or have the money to risk, fine, but don't question our intelligence or our research. Even if we all have made a terrible mistake and are going to lose our money, rubbing our nose in it is less than respectful.
Note, by 'you' I am talking to the grumps out there, not necessarily YOU.

I was raised (Jewish)- that the name shall not be written. "YHVH" is sometimes used to identify Him. But I'm cool with others doing what is right for them, just thought it might be more universal not to just use His name in print for casual banter. may He bless us all
Ah. Interesting.
Now I know.
Thanks.

I have found that within the lexicon of American English there are MANY phrases and expressions which contain reference to GOD, but they are not typically used in a manner which suggests that the speaker, or writer, is ACTUALLY calling for action or attention from the Christian deity. So, I have always thought it wise to use the lower case when it's 'just an expression', such as "god it's cold out here." ,as opposed to when one is in actuality calling upon the Lord for something, i.e. "In God's name we pray...". Might not be church doctrine exactly, but it's been my habit out of respect and a wish not to use God in vain.
I do wonder though, if I'd used "for allah's sake", would anyone have mentioned it? Other than the thousands of die-hards that are declaring jihad as we speak, that is.
The REAL question is though, what do we do with the ubiquetous OMG? or omg or is it omG?

"To laugh is to risk appearing the fool" and to reserve an Elio likewise. But that was ALWAYS a possibility. There are really only two ways this can end. Either the whole thing goes belly-up and you look like an idiot, or it all works and you are a GENIUS! But that never changed from day one. You took a chance and you OWN the outcome. It's either "d@mn I'm good!", or " d@mn that was stupid". But if you go through life worried about what the crowd thinks you'll never rise above them. Who cares what 'they' think?

I always thought the G was Gosh and that normal usage of an acronym was to capitalize the first letter of each word.
Although I must admit I once got in trouble with a sales manager for using RFRP/UFI in a draft proposal.
He asked what it meant and I said Robust Feature Rich Product with a User Friendly Interface. He didn't appreciate it since that was boilerplate from a VPs talk on the product. Implied I might be terminated if he saw it in another draft.
