So I took the time to look up the definition since you apparently don't think I understand. And it appears that I have a real good understanding.
From a purely marketing standpoint your idea has merit. From a product standpoint it doesn't move the product forward or get you unit built.
Lets get the test units going and then maybe get a production engine in P4.
Incidentally, I went "all in" on Feb 9 knowing all about the issues. Not at the level I would have liked to, but that's a separate issue.

Investor

Definition: An investor is an individual who pays for an investment instrument (such as a bond), or for an equity interest in a business, with an expectation of earning a return on the invested funds.

(from wiki)
An investor is a person who allocates capital with the expectation of a financial return. Types of investments include: equity, debt securities, real estate, currency, commodity, derivatives such as put and call options, etc. This definition makes no distinction between those in the primary and secondary markets.
So you do understand that those investments does not always give you the intended reward. It's only an "expectation" of gain or lose. Like you can lose equity in your house or real estate, currency value can go down, etc. So if you don 't think your deposit to an ELIO is not an investment, maybe you should re-write it's definition. Anyhow, that's enough of that. I'm not here to pick fights w/ anybody but merely trying to explore other options for EM that maybe they have not thought out yet. By the way, by going all in you have proven a skin in the game so you have all the right to view it your way and I respect that. ;)

Respectfully speaking, you are not an investor. You did not buy stock in the company. You read an agreement online which said that you understood that the product you were paying money for might never be built and that you might never receive the product. Somehow that does not sound like the description of an investor. You decided to put up money with no guarantee of any return and now you are complaining that you have no voice. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride. We will either get our new Elios or we won't. Taking your only engine and your only chassis and beating around the track while not on display is not a sensible strategy.
thank you, why does this need repeating every other day?

in part because folks often don't tend to read what they sign and even when they do, they tend to want it to say what they want it to say
Thanks, but you'd think reading a few threads would clear that up. Some of the "stuff" flys through here-i.e. engine delay, $ problems, but then flames out. This shareholder stuff persists month after month

While I was a technical writer in sales I learned that there were two important things.
1. Manage customer expectations.
2. Deliver to commit.
I would hate to tell you how many times I told the salesman not... NOT.... to tell the customer we could do some specific thing while we drove to a customer and then had to bit my tongue as the salesman told the customer we could do that thing. The worst part was, I had to make it work somehow.

That's called, 'Innovating', what you were forced to do there. :) That's how everything moves forward. Thank God for stupid people that won't listen to you. ;)
