I would venture that we are going a bit too far down this rabbit hole. But speaking to much of your comment I can only say that god(God) has been adopted as a word into the secular vocabulary and it means little to those who use it, capitalized or not. It's not going to change at this point. So you can spend your life railing against it, or just shake your head and move on. There are many, many things I'm forced to shake my head at these days. But I know I can't change it, just try to live with it. That's why I find the humor in everything...... if they only knew what I find so amusing....

Must not venture beyond the Elio topic too far. Philosophizing too much is like trying to look up obamas skirt around here. Besides I believe we're being monitored by big brother too. LOL. We can't even talk about the blatant floundering of Presidency here. PS who are we kidding. If Elio is perceived as even a slight competition to the big boys they will squash him like a bug. Not referring to the Volkswagen here either. LOL

That was fun to read!
Completely wrong and mis-characterizing us, but fun!:D

Unfortunately, carzes was correct, and it is you that are wrong about the mis-characterization. It clearly does not apply to all forum members, but anything but towing the company line results in personal attacks and banning. Rational thought and questions are avoided by elio motors, and by this forum, with the full consent of the moderators.

I fully expect to vanish in a puff of smoke (aka banned), also.

It is a shame that a truly good and needed idea (cheap, economical, fun tadpole trike) will be taken down by deceptive advertising and poor management. There is no conspiracy or opposition needed.

I have found that within the lexicon of American English there are MANY phrases and expressions which contain reference to GOD, but they are not typically used in a manner which suggests that the speaker, or writer, is ACTUALLY calling for action or attention from the Christian deity. So, I have always thought it wise to use the lower case when it's 'just an expression', such as "god it's cold out here." ,as opposed to when one is in actuality calling upon the Lord for something, i.e. "In God's name we pray...". Might not be church doctrine exactly, but it's been my habit out of respect and a wish not to use God in vain.
I do wonder though, if I'd used "for allah's sake", would anyone have mentioned it? Other than the thousands of die-hards that are declaring jihad as we speak, that is.
The REAL question is though, what do we do with the ubiquetous OMG? or omg or is it omG?
"Christian deity"- really? that exclusive

I personally know of no one who has ever been banned from this site.
Maybe rode out on a rail by other members so much that they decided to ban themselves, but I don't know of any that the moderators banned.

Also too, they get a lot of attention up front, but after awhile, it becomes stale very quickly they get bored and leave and sometimes reappear later. Some along with the rants have a great sense of humor - which I think is cool. I've thought about blocking some, but it's too much fun to read a small story, and reply w/ two or 3 words!!

...... There are really only two ways this can end. Either the whole thing goes belly-up and you look like an idiot, or it all works and you are a GENIUS!.....

Although there are many who may fit into those "only two ways", I disagree that those are the "only" ways this can end. Yes, it's true...the Elio gets built or it doesn't. However, neither outcome "defines" who I am, as a person. I have no reason to "boast" either way. The Elio is not my game. And it is not your game. We are all observers. It does NO GOOD for any of us to write new rules to a game that is being played by others. It can be fun tho. And quite the EGO booster. Because we all tend to (only) remember the predictions that come true, and forget (or justify) the predictions we make that are proven wrong. Many times, the only justification we have is, "But, I didn't "KNOW" they could do that! Or,..."they DID just what I said they had to do, And they are a success!...Therefore I am "intelligent" and (partly) responsible for their success...everyone, look at me!" A bit narcissistic?......maybe.
Then, there are some who like to play both sides,..."EM is a bunch of crooks, Idiots, scammers...but I sure want them to succeed!...win-win?
A few years ago, I knew this older gentleman who fancied himself a good chess player. He only played with himself because (in his words)..."no one else was a worthy opponent." Some pretty "close" games, but he always won! o_O I watched a game or two, and realized what little grasp he had for the game. It didn't really matter, tho. He really enjoyed playing with himself. ;)

The more time I spend here, the easier it is to see who is serious, and has a "balanced" view of the journey we are on, and the few who are happy just "playing with themselves" while others watch.

But,I'm with you carzes, "who cares what they think!" :)
