Couldn't we also get some of this info (engine temp., etc.) from the OBDII port and displayed using a 3rd party app?
It all depends on what information they choose to pull from the PCM; the pin outs might or might not be there; mileage is always done for legal reasons.

Obviously you don't have a pacemaker so you have no idea what it's all about.

So what do you do in your current vehicle when you're driving?

JC Whitney used to have a gadget that would stop the retractor from fully functioning. I still have a coupe and use one in my '95 Wrangler and one in my '11 F150. Don't know if they are legal and don't really care. They do make a mess of the belts, but I'll take that rather than the irritation.

Dumb question. Why, knowing that the patient will most like be driving a vehicle with a seatbelt installed in it, would the surgeons implant the device where it would rub on it, or even more seriously, be damaged [catastrophic results] in the event of an accident? I'd rather have it implanted in my beer gut, at least it'd be safe there. Not joking about the reason for the default location though.

Not a dumb question. I was trying to avoid posting this one and I hope it doesn't offend or upset anyone--------

I have no idea why they put it in the left side rather than the right. It may have something to do with the specific condition but it keeps atrium and ventricle synchronized
Without being too much of a smart guy, having a pacemaker has made me a big fan of the Energizer Bunny

Thanks for the links. Where I have the problem is out on the ranch where the bumps cause the seat belt to ratchet. That's why I use the gadget that stops the shoulder from ratcheting. Do away with inertial retractors and there would be no problem.

Makes sense. Shortest/straightest routing. I learned something today! [knock wood, I'll never need to know more!]
