JE..you make that statement with much conviction. All I can say is its not over till the fat lady sings. Anything can change:drama:

it would delight me to be wrong ..... it would really, really delight me to be wrong .... all it would take is Paul changing his mind .... that said, the tour folks told me he is determined to put the Elgin in first year models as a tribute to his father .... they also told me that EM knows of the feelings expressed on this and other forums .... they firmly believe that the general public doesn't care strongly one way or the other and that having the Elgin will not lower sales .... with the P5 being the first to have an Elgin mounted, it will be interesting to see if the general public at shows does start to comment

No, I didn't miss it; mounting it on the left just gives it a common feel; the had them in the right for the passenger seat.
What happens with the belt mounted in the seat, the pull on the belt mounting is vertical rather than horizontal like the post mount. The belt also doesn't have to be "in" the seat, it can be mounted to the base of the seat (so you use a standard seatbelt assembly) you just run the belt up either the back of the seat or through the inside of the seat; the only modification you have to do is in the frame of the seat (minimal cost).

Obviously you don't have a pacemaker so you have no idea what it's all about.

To me the gauge cluster is small potatoes, as it only affects us Elio owners. Where the gas tank on the wrong side, effects us owners and everyone else at the stations. Filling up today, it was crazy. Luckily everyone had the gas tanks on the drivers side, so after a 15 minute wait, I was able to fill up. I honestly don't feel a fill up was possible today by someone with passenger side fill. I'm 100% serious.

I'm looking at 5 gallon gas cans now on Amazon.com. Mixed reviews. If anyone knows a good one that works well for them, feel free to post. I would assume any tank that works wel with lawnmowers, etc, would work well for the Elio too?

I use these to fill my chain saws.

Someone should force the CARB people to put gas in their car in a blizzard with one of those pieces of garbage that they mandate.

I have had cars with the gas filler on both side and under the plate in the rear. I could careless where it is as along as I know.

As low as the Elio is, we will have the best of both (sides) worlds. I can drag the hose over the bed of my p/u if I have to, but the Elio will be of no worries, either side. Pull up to an available pump, gas up, and continue on. No worries!
