Jesus, that's actually fantastic! I'm really hoping we can achieve the 84mpg while moving at the speed limit of 70mph. If not, then hopefully it'll make it to at least the 70s (mpg) at that speed.
FWIW, Jerome told me a year ago that the idea was for Elio to deliver its mpg at highway spends, 65 mph. They are currently at 81 mpg. Looking for those extra 3 mpg -- that's proving difficult without increasing cost.

HA! Difficult? Try telling your wife she should have no problem losing those last 3 pounds to make goal.

I wonder if it would fit... :p
Friend of mine just built a new sleeper for a client.
2016 Chevy Colorado

It came with a V6, but this guy wasn't about to pile on turbo's and NOS, so he had this done

Looks pretty Factory Stock doesn't it?
It's an LS3 putting out over 400hp
My buddy told me it was one of the easiest motor swaps he's ever done.
Behind the V8 is the same 6speed tranny that the corvette uses.

But does it get 84 mpg?

A MICROCAR GUY WON THE X-PRIZE ONE YEAR IN HIS 1958 HEINKEL .
THE COURSE CIRCUMNAVIGATED ONE OF THE NEW YORK FINGER LAKES .

THE CAR WAS BASICALLY STOCK WITH THINGS LIKE HIGH TIRE PRESSURES
AND HE WAS ABLE TO COAX 123mpg OUT OF IT .

THE PROBLEM WITH TODAY's CARS IS WEIGHT . THE HEINKEL WEIGHS
JUST 600 OR SO POUNDS AND HAS RESPECTABLE AERODYNAMICS .

ALONG WITH AERODYNAMIC AND MECHANICAL EFFICIENCY ,
THE ELIO's 1200 POUNDS GIVES IT A HUGE ADVANTAGE .

IF THIS CAN BE DONE WITH 1950's TECHNOLOGY , I DON'T THINK 84mpg
IS TOO HIGH A BAR AT ALL .
