That's correct ,the Elio weight is about a third ,better areo and probably 300 less hp .I really think that 85 mpg or better can be obtained .1,250 lbs and the Elio isn't nearly as wide as the corvette.. well, the Cabin isn't.

The base C5 Corvette weighs about 3400 lbs ,LS1 360 hp can achieve 34 mpg cruising at 75-80 mph .Areo is a key part of the equation .I haven't. seen the estimated weight on the Elio
I always figured "84 mpg" was a figure that would be obtained by using test vehicle driven by some skinny 100lb driver, etc. If it gets over 60mpg, that will be more than enough for me. This is considering that my 49cc scooter, carrying a 200+ lb payload (me), got around 70 mpg.plus or minus.
Ahh! That's what they WANT you to believe! They don't check mileage that way.

Im not impressed. My Grand Caravan gets almost 30mpg when cruising on the highway. And its only slightly more aerodynamic than a brick! You'd think something as aerodynamic as the corvette could do better. The base C5 Corvette weighs about 3400 lbs ,LS1 360 hp can achieve 34 mpg cruising at 75-80 mph .Areo is a key part of the equation.
Put the Corvette engine in your van and then see what it gets.Im not impressed. My Grand Caravan gets almost 30mpg when cruising on the highway. And its only slightly more aerodynamic than a brick! You'd think something as aerodynamic as the corvette could do better.
