Okay... I'll throw a low-carb treat in here... AND, it's really simple.

1. Find a piece of American Cheese (Like Kraft cheese slices but without the plastic wrap).
2. Fold cheese in half to break, repeat till you have 16 little squares
3. On a piece of parchment paper cut in a circle to fit your microwave, lay out in one large circle all 16 squares
4. Cook for about 44 seconds. It'll bubble and pool into little cooked cheese piles that are about as thick as a Cheezit
5. the cheese chips will lift right off the parchment paper.

My wife lets them cool a little and then puts them in a little container for me to take with my lunch. There are little to no carbs in them but they have that crunch and slight saltiness that mid-afternoons seem to be made for.

we often stop to eat at a Cracker Barrel while traveling .... no matter what time of day, I almost always order their (taken from this link) :

"The Cracker Barrel Country Boy Breakfast®
Country Ham, Pork Chops or Steak* grilled to order, Three Eggs* cooked to order served with Fried Apples, Hashbrown Casserole, Grits, Sawmill Gravy and Homemade Buttermilk Biscuits along with real Butter and the best Preserves, Jam n' Apple Butter available."

most folks don't know that "Red-eye Gravy" is available at request at Cracker Barrel so I substitute it for the Sawmill Gravy..... I give the fried apples to my wife, too much sugar

My favorite place to eat when traveling. Food is always consistent across the country. Love that hash brown casserole.

for the most part, they sure are .... unfortunately, I learned the hard why even though the menu is the same, their cook in Sioux Falls, SC has no clue how to fix country ham or grits .... the country ham was fried hard enough to be used like a Friz Be and the grits were the consistency of mashed potatoes ...

absolutely .... but not for breakfast .... we just bought a country cured ham and had it sliced .... another pork product that's good for all occasions .... in addition after frying the country ham, making coffee gravy for the biscuits or grits goes a long way to completing any meal
Love biscuits and grave but never learned to love grits. However my grandmother in Nashville made a breakfast that was is pretty hard to beat: fried eggs, pork sausage patties, home made biscuits, red-eye gravy and fried apples
