Hmmm, EM=Electra Meccanica... EM=Elio Motors... Have we ever seen The Elio and The Solo in the same place? No? Conspiracy!!!

LOL, j/k. I really hope the Solo does great. That will help prove the 3 wheeled commuter concept to the masses and Elio with room for a passenger, half the price, and with no range anxiety will be in a great position. I see nothing but good for Elio there. Unless the safety and driveability of the Solo is terrible, that would not help Elio's case if there is larger than normal percentage of fatalities in the Solo compared to automobiles.

That is definitely one drawback of autocycles. As far as safety goes they will be compared in the press and popular perception to larger automobiles than motorcycles. You would think that safety should be compared to an average of the two, but that is unlikely to happen. I REALLY hope the Elio does well in the crash tests.

I plan to buy an Elio as my SRK or Solo range extender..........a driveable range extender........for cross country adventures. I may also trailer/tow the Solo behind the Elio for an extra passenger (3 seater), cargo space, and to drive after I reach my long range destination. Should my Elio run out of gas or have a flat tire I'll have a driveable 'spare'. I think Elio Motors, Arcimoto, and ElectraMeccanica should partner as the BIG THREE sharing Manufacturing Facilities, Sales, and Servicing Centers. The BIG THREE AUTO-CYCLE MALL.

I sense a new warm and fuzzy GO THREE WHEELS Owner's Forum on the horizon..................speaking of big three wheelin dreams.

$5 Million of investment capital and 2 years to get the new startup ElectraMeccanica's 2017 Solo Commuter into production with a prototype currently screaming around the test track with positive test driver reviews ........"feels like putting on an Iron Man Suit!" Looks FUNctional even with the crappy range of an EV.

Test drive events are planned for reservationist's shortly after the reveal.

Oh, so it's just the test mule still. I was hoping to see a finished car. Since the Solo is being built in small-batch production and set to go on sale in a couple weeks, I was kinda hoping to see the finished product on the track.

They're saying the public grand unveiling is September 9th for the real thing.

Edit: I forgot. There was also a RSVP Sneak Preview unveiling a week ago Wednesday on the 17th.
