Definitely won't hurt. Won't know what sound deadening modifications might be needed until my 11 hour drive home....I'm friggin' excited to find out!

5 hours? You're going to want to add cruise control to your "meat and potatoes" Elio. I drove 16 hrs to FL back when I was in my early 30's...thought I was going to be crippled for life when I finally arrived. But other than that option, I'm with you on "basic".

Hmmm....Get any strange odors using that when it's hot outside? I'm assuming it's asphalt-based. I do like the idea though.

No smells it works great for a lot less money. I got it at Lowes.

How much does a roll of it weigh?

Maybe 5 pounds. it is 6 inches wide and maybe 8 feet long? This stuff is great!!

Gonna be needing some of that for an MGB. Should take care of what noise 55 years living ( industry,chainsaws and shotguns) hasn't deadened
I think the Elio should be way bettern a MG noise wise !

I have used a material used for roof flashing in my full size van, works great. Similar to dynamat but a lot less money. Once it sticks on almost impossible to remove. It has foil on one side and adhesive on the other anout1/8 inch thick.
