Patience is a virtue they say
from me that virtue seems far away
I find I have not none in any way.
So like me I hope you've learned to prey.

[/U]Here's a vehicle for all the haters who can't wait for the Elio. Actually, the Elil isn't much more than the Elf.
$4000 vs $6800 - Pretty easy choice for me. It is obvious that the Elio technology is far superior. I'll take my Elio and if you want one to be more environmentally friendly, you can add a solar panel to your Elio.

One reason the ELF intrigues me is I had to ride a recumbent bike during physical therapy over a year ago and I actually enjoyed it. I hated the standard bike but loved the recumbent bike. I wouldn't mind having one like this with the 3 wheels. I had one problem with the stationery one, it took two of us to get me on it because of the design. I think the ELF design negates that problem. However, there are no doors so that means it isn't totally appropriate for inclement weather. Since I could only ride the ELF in my little town and I do most of my shopping 15 miles away, I'll stick with the much warmer/cooler, protected, safe Elio. Love my ELIO !!!!! :-) Z

It's nice, but a little too pricey.

Some more new old news from Google alerts. I like the Red Elio.

3 Wheeled Car By Elio Motors Delayed Till 2015

Staff are on the project but no activity has started. The story of the Elio 3 wheeler car dates back to 2012. There have been a series of delays and the Company reasons that it is not easy for anyone to launch a new vehicle company. The costs are high and there are many activities involved.

The Company has voiced its plans to hire about 800 workers in the month of June 2015. The production is likely to start in September. The Company till date has managed to raise $55 and it has collected over 15,000 deposits. Elio Motors had promised car enthusiasts that it initially had the plans to have these 3 wheelers built in Pontiac in Michigan. The car was supposed to be in the hands of their customers by 2012.

It is true that $55 million has been collected however Elio still is short of its starting budget estimated at $200 million. There is anticipation of a $7.5 million investment of cash by Stuart Lichter an industrial developer that has been hired by owners to oversee developments.

I agree but I have seen new recumbent bikes for over $2,000 and that is without 3 wheels or body or any of the other stuff the ELF has. I guess they must be able to get that price or the prices would come down. Maybe. LOL :-) Z
