I have not jumped in although I've been right on the edge numerous times. I just keep reading stuff that makes me wonder...

chance of actual production 4/10
chance of another time delay 9/10
chance of yet another t-shirt promotion 10/10

chances anyone on this site will actually own an Elio in 2015...maybe we should call Vegas to find out the odds.

I was literally ready to go all in yesterday, until my husband told me about the eliomotorsscam site. Interesting reading to say the least, I will wait to see what happens. If they are planning to build 68,000 the first year and they only have around 12,000 reservations right now then I figure I still have some time to reserve.

Elio Scam Site? I don't believe Eilo is a scam but the site that you mentioned may be. All of skeptics can just stand on the side walk when we Elio owners drive by, we will wave when we go by because we will be happy that we got in line first.

Ask Gov. Jindal if Elio is a scam..............naysayers always abound, I'm sure Henry Ford had his share too............

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal said, “After the loss of GM, we made a commitment to the people of Northwest Louisiana that we would not only pursue possible alternative uses for the old GM facility, but we would also aggressively pursue new projects in the region that would create new job opportunities. From Benteler to Ronpak to Tiburon, we have kept our commitment, and Elio is the latest example of a company that is investing here because of Louisiana’s strong business climate and world-class workforce. We look forward to partnering with them to secure job-creating tenants in the remaining space that is expected to be made available at the former GM facility.”

Well I sure hope you had the refundable deposit. I'm all in for 1K. I know what I'm getting into and there's no blaming anybody but me then again this fantasy ride is not over yet...I'm betting that with any luck...and it's gonna take more than just luck it'll have a happy ending!;)

No(refundable deposit, I have a #), I was not promised $10k vehicle. I fully understand risk. Not manufactured I lose $1k. If it comes to market and costs $10k. That's fine, as long as original($1k all in) depositors get the Elio for $5300. Anything more they will have a problem.

I don't believe any part of Elio is a scam. I believe all involved with Elio have integrity, believe in what they are doing. Without funding though. I think they are in over their head. This is from someone (8 months ago) that wanted a dealership, a franchise, some part of Elio, because I believed in it, now, I've had a reality check. Funding is not in place. There is no "Daddy Warbucks", or Elon Musk in the background waiting to invest. Securing funding would increase interest in Elio! It would give potential consumers a reason to make that deposit.

I gotta admit.... I started as a 5 and went in with my $100 about a month ago with the idea to upgrade as I saw milestones met. But just within the past month that's dropped to 3 or maybe a 2 mostly due to the press release about that gawd awful interior and talk of all the other options. I'll believe that a basic car can be done for dirt cheap using off the shelf parts and such, but the moment they start talking whiz-bang dashboards and such they raise HUGE red flags in my book. Either they're losing their vision or they've recognized that it's not going to happen and are just milking it for all the salary it's worth before they pull the plug. Either of those is No Bueno.

The thing is Henry Ford had financial backing.. We are talking 100+ million shortfall here.. Drastic change needs to happen on the financial front..

I just visited the site and don't feel that the person that wrote that article has taken the time to educate themselves about Elio. He/ she has far less factual evidence that Elio will fail than Elio has to support their success. Elio's only problem is that they are too transparent. We have all been allowed to participate in something revolutionary that is still early in a process that no auto/ motorcycle company ever cares to involve their customers with.

Presently Deefield Beach moving to Jensen Beach
I was a 8 I went halfway in on 2/5/2014 I went to Daytona Beach 3/12 and I sat in the P4 I will go in for the other half next month. Saw the prototype engine on a stand it looks like quite a nice design and with a 4 quart crankcase it should have a long life. The P4 is a real cool looking piece of machinery I myself go for white instead of green because I live in sunny Florida. I hope it can be licensed as a motorcycle for the low insurance rate. I currently pay $70 for motorcycle insurance ($3 off from last year for no accidents or tickets)
