I personally know of no one who has ever been banned from this site.
Maybe rode out on a rail by other members so much that they decided to ban themselves, but I don't know of any that the moderators banned.
I was just exaggerating a bit, (or a lot), and didn't mean to imply that discenting views are culled by the moderators at all. More as you say, they are just instantly dog-piled by certain members who kind of make up the local opinion militia, always on the 'troll' hunt. Certainly my opinions are often unpopular and I've not been banned. Yet. :)
But with another long delay ahead and not much other news from Shreveport, what shall we discuss without a little gasoline thrown on the fire to keep it interesting? Shall we merely assemble as the last refuge of Elio sycophants, with nothing to contribute anymore 'cause all that's 'approved' to say has been said? As for me, I am happy to wander down whatever tangent of discussion seems interesting. We seem to have plenty of time before we'll have to finalize our color selections.

We do agree that there is a good chance that you will realistically know within a year whether elio motors will be likely to ever go into production. I'll say "I told you so" now, to save having to say it then. :) The only way this happens is if paul gives up control of the business, and only remains on as a figurehead.

while being a bit disappointed at some of the delays and with some of the clumsy news releases, I've enjoyed watching from afar .... if EM goes belly up and we lose our reservation money, the world will not end and the sun will come up tomorrow ... if I'm wrong about that, we will have much bigger things to worry about .... the truth is, I've wasted much more money and not had anywhere near as much fun .... where you see no chance, I honestly believe they have a good shot

1) Just naive, expecting a company to have their product at their headquarters.
2) Because it was an office complex. All of the other businesses in the complex had their names on the sign.
3) Ah, yes. Again, naive me. From the website and press releases, I thought they actual had built several.
4) Because your main claim for the design was half a car, twice the mileage. A simple test would prove the claim true. Or false. Oh, that is why they don't publish mileage with the Geo engine. The mpg of Geo's is too well documented.
Personal insult ignored.
5) I walked into their HQ with cash in my pocket. I walked out the same. I am "all in" for enclosed tadpole trikes. I don't trust elio motors.
6) Because the reservation agreement says that they are. Haven't you read the reservation agreements?

What is your motivation? Please don't tell me "it's because I want to help you." You appear to have an agenda that seems to be "time sensitive." You have repeated these same "claims" about half a dozen times in exactly 7 posts. We have read them, and read them, and read them.

May I offer a little constructive criticism?...Thank you. You may "think" "free speech" allows you to keep "dogging" Em without accountability. Please use your "formidable" research skills, and look up the definition of "libel".....and remember, what is posted on the "net" is forever....and "traceable."

Have a nice day :)

And there we are in agreement. Our conclusions as to the viability of the company are different, but I've had a lot of fun following the saga, as well as the frustrations for my stated reasons.

Empty threats. I haven't taken anyone's money under false pretenses. I have stated facts, and offered my conclusions. Nothing illegal about that under U.S. law. If you go to all the effort to track me down, feel free come on by. I have a fridge full of fresh, cold bottled water for guests. Sorry, no beer at my house.

Again, it makes no difference to me at this point if elio succeeds or fails. It's been a fun hobby following this for a couple of years. My motivation is the same as that of the little boy who pointed out that the emperor had no clothes. Just too naive to think that stating the obvious should cause an uproar.

while we agree on some things, here is where we differ .... having read your reasoning, I still haven't seen a single bit of solid evidence to back up the charge of taking money under false pretenses .... plenty of pent-up emotion but not a single fact

"Christian deity"- really? that exclusive
Exclusive? No, INCLUSIVE. I just meant to acknowledge that some of the forum members and viewers might very well NOT be Christian, and that's cool. I'm pretty sure that the god referenced in common American expressions is not Ganesh or Kàmi or even Jah. Or do you mean that by not specifying WHICH god one is meaning they could be said to apply to whatever deity happens to be available at the time?

eliothegreat, you joined today. You first actions is to try to smear the elio company, as well as to talk down towards those who believe the Elio will make it to market, and our driveways.
You appear to have nothing worthy of sharing to tell. I will in no way be offended if you prove me wrong on this statement.
I hope your life is full of rainbows and sunshine, as a cloudy day doesn't seem to agree with you...

LOL. You're probably right about walking away. It's like watching a train wreck, sometimes it's hard not to watch, and feel for the people still on the train. I have lots of things to be happy about, thanks. I've enjoyed and followed tadpole trikes for 30+ years. I had hoped elio would bring one to market, but they won't. They have burned through too much money and credibility to pull it off now. The early delays and broken words only affected a few thousand people. Now there are 40k people with money on the line, and probably at least 2-3 times that many who are interested but holding onto their wallets, who have seen the pattern of failure. If the missing $230M became available tomorrow, it would still take at least 18 months before production could begin. One of the main reasons for that is because the P series truly are irrelevant. Real prototypes need to be built and tested. Real engines need to be built and tested. If elio can't build a single real prototype with $65M and two years, not counting the 4+ years in the failed round one, what makes you think that they are going to be able to build the required quantity of real prototypes, set up the factory, hire all the people necessary, professionals and managers to staff and line workers, establish the sales infrastructure, write the manuals, coordinate the training, etc that needs to be done just to become operational, not to mention dealing with the inevitable challenges of any startup business in it's first year of manufacturing?

Again, no skin off my nose. When you've followed this as long and as closely as I have, you may well come to the same conclusion. We do agree that there is a good chance that you will realistically know within a year whether elio motors will be likely to ever go into production. I'll say "I told you so" now, to save having to say it then. :) The only way this happens is if paul gives up control of the business, and only remains on as a figurehead.
And the converse- If it does succeed, will you man-up,return and say I was wrong? lol

Naive?..I doubt it .Narcissistic?...I think that fits. I have made no threats. Only offering some food for thought. I certainly wouldn't waste my time "tracking you down." There are professionals for that. You probably have nothing to worry about unless EM fails...
