The bars with green tape appear to be temporary braces to hold parts in place until welded.

Below is the You Tube computer simulation. Check out the very first picture before crashing and the parts of the video and the above pictures can be seen.

Can someone capture a still picture of the beginning of the video (I tried but no luck) and post it on the same page as the above photograph? The components can then be easily compared.

Notice the table on which this is being built. This is no second rate shop.

Looks like also changes at base of B and C pillars.

as already noted in this thread and in many others before it, you will find a good number of folks who agree .... unfortunately, our forum and and other sites that setup for folks who are interested in EM, have been through the tirades of former members who strongly feel differently .... Paul may not fully reach all of his must haves and if he doesn't, the blow-back will resume .... personally, I prefer the P3 fenders .... personally, I want nothing to do with the Elgin .... personally I prefer the fuel port being on the left .... to help reach his mileage standard, the P4 fenders will be standard ....to help with his base price goal, the fuel port will be on the right .... on Facebook we were told that if we want an Elio, we had to take the Elgin .... the bottom line is, its pretty much take it or leave it .... I can understand him not changing his plans to suit my wants .... we plan to buy an Elio, to modify what we can and live with the rest

There is an old Engineering quip that states .......
“Engineers like to solve problems. If there are no problems handily available, they will create their own problems.”
Like you , I will buy the Elio any way they design it .But in the interest of having a discussion , target goals could be altered to hasten the process . I sincerely would have no patience for anyone that would criticize Elio for almost reaching 84 MPG .

If you give me a time frame # I can snag any image.

Paul originally intended to design an economy vehicle. He accidentally designed a vehicle that was also beautiful. Perhaps he does not realize this. He is an engineer.

TO ME ONE OF THE BEST AESTHETIC IMPROVEMENTS OF THE P-4 WAS THE HEADLIGHTS .

I HATED THE LITTLE PODS THAT STUCK OUT ON THE SIDES ON THE P-3 .

I THINK THE AERODYNAMIC FLUSH HEADLIGHTS AND THE ENCLOSED FENDERS WERE BOTH BIG WINNERS .

I need to correct my previous statements re: A, B, and C Pillars.
In looking more closely, the differences appear to be mostly "stage of completion".
Looking at the A pillar, it looks like the outside is a plate spot welded on over more square tube for rigidity.
The same applies to the B and C.
This is just two frames with minor differences in different states of completion.

Something I just noticed on the P3; look at the nose/hood doesn't it remind you of a VW Beetle?
t's got that same kind of "droop" the Beetle had.

Another point; looking at the P5 body frame I can see where adding a rear door would be a real PITA
I forgot who it was that said "it can't be that hard to just add a suicide door on the left, or a small single door on the right".
You would have to do some major structural changes to add it; I can see now how adding a back door is totally impractical.
