Without getting you more confused, flying upside down are controlled by the combination of ailerons (control flaps in both wings) and the tail flaps ( Up and down) inputs which then redirect the flow of air to push the plane up or down inverted. Even biplanes can handle upside down flying. I've assembled and flew model planes for years because I can't afford a real one!OK Bert, I completely understand how lift overcomes gravity and planes fly. What I don't get is how planes fly upside down. With lift and gravity working in the same direction, why doesn't the plane slam into the ground??
