I think once there is an established market 200k units, there will be the usual supply and demand, and prices/markets will be marketed.
Awhile ago I was shopping for a CAT back exhaust for my Beemer, and I was pleasantly surprised by the large number of manufacturers competing for my purchase, the quality and of course, the bottom line.
One option I haven't seen offered, was on an early VW owned by a friend, had the wind-up key on it. Helped promote interest, while introducing a new car concept :-)

EM's MSRP base is low and options are high........good thing EM isn't a DAMN GREEDY auto manufacturer.

A significant difference between EM and the other guys is ePlus. With the other guys, if I want a $200 option I can't get it unless I buy the $4000 package. Also the fact that even with EMs 20% markup + 10% toll fee, the markup by EM is likely orders of magnitude less than the markup from the other guys. The other guys also have a captive market and use this to their advantage, namely our pocket books.

In the ePlus press conference Paul said they expect an average of $3000 in options per elio. I doubt other auto companies can claim anything close to that low.

I think everybody deserves a profit but it is getting to be that way too many companies, not just the auto companies, are so busy sticking their hands down our pants in the interest of profits that they forgot that they are supposed to be giving something of value in return.

EM is facing this as a project and not merely for capital gains. Numerous times we have heard people say they could sell the elio for significantly more but EM persists in making the elio affordable.

It is for all these reasons that EM is not like the other DAMN GREEDY BASTARDS.

Elio Motors is offering wraps from day 1, it appears. I am surprised. I would think wraps would be a more complex option they would offer after production is established.

I wonder if the 100 preproduction vehicles has anything to do with offering wraps from the beginning. Perhaps the fleet customers for these 100 vehicles require their vehicles wrapped to advertise their business. As long as EM has developed wrapping for them, the stage is set for offering wraps to individual customers from the beginning.

It's certainly an explanation that makes sense. It might even be the right one. But sometimes the elegant solution is wrong.

Yes, something like the rear fender on this motorcycle, except the swoop part would be facing toward the front of the Elio.

Here's another version of a fender that, tweaked a little so the "swoop" more closely reflects the Elio front end, could work with the Elio (reversed as suggested above).

WOW. All these fantastic machines! It's things like this that set my imagination ablaze. Perhaps, coming into the 2020's, we can bring back this level of elegence to our machines? And perhaps the Elio is a good place to start :D
