I am extra busy for a few days and apparently miss all the fun around here. I honestly do not know what happened however I am inclined to believe EKH that it was an IAV scheduling issue as he has a proven track record here of providing good information.

I briefly touched on this after the last town hall however one big problem with the IAV not getting paid rumors, and I myself did not realize until the last town hall, is that EM pays IAV a fixed cost for periods of development up front. I am sure there are certain incidentals and such which are billed later however IAV is smart enough to get the bulk of their money, from a start-up such as EM, up front thus preventing the issue of EM not being able to pay they bills and leaving IAV holding the bag.

The IAV is not getting paid rumor pops up every month and what is supposedly being affected by this changes depending on what is going on in the project. Nothing along these lines has ever proven to be true and from what I know I highly doubt that would be the case now.

ok, I have read 1000+ posts on this thread - some, maybe many of the speculations have merit. I will preface this by saying I am not an optimist; I have literally been accused of being the most negative person known because I try to find all the possible failure modes before they occur! So in the spirit of hope for the best, plan for the worst, the "worst" has been pretty well covered here - including a few things that made me say "really?"

What if the stake-holders that initiated the postponement were in fact money men and the conversation went something like: "I(we) want to be there when the new engine starts so I(we) can get our pictures in so it looks like I(we) actually were involved with the concept/development (to stroke their giant egos) and after the photo session, I(we) will hand you that big, fat check..."

Please note, this is only for balance. I know it's unlikely, but it's just as possible as many of the other unfounded speculations.

Feel free to call me a cynic, but when someone jumps on a forum and immediately quotes anonymous negative sources in their first 5 messages, I am skeptical.
Or they are a knowledgeable source that is trying to set the record straight?
I lean towards your side as well, but thought I'd offer an opposing view.

There is a difference between failure modes and fault finding. Failure modes looks for possible areas/modes where a failure may occur. Fault finding is when you find possible/perceived/assumed faults and state them as true.
