Yep an $9000 car that gets 88MPG would be way better than one <$7K that gets 84MPGIt is a lighter, simpler version of the older DCT and actually more fuel efficient than any thing today. Elio coming in w/old technology to hold the $6800 price point may be a mistake.

Zero has been around for at least 4 years now. There is a lot of money politics involved in getting anything new into production vehicles.
Doing the right thing is always trumped by the politics of money.
