Only one hour.....
I'm so confused, just till me when to be there. Maybe I'll show up, maybe I won't! ( To self: Fat chance, you lying POS, you'll be there with rings on your fingers and bells on your toes, acting like it's every national holiday rolled into one!)

I'm betting the factory tour will have nothing to do with the production or your personal Elio. I think your vehicle will be sitting in a lot, ready for pick up, the day you arrive, and the factory tour will be just what it sounds like. A tour of the factory, and an opportunity to see the assembly process. You guys are really dreaming if you think you will be able to follow the assembly of an individual vehicle.

You do realize that this actually happens every day at auto assembly plants around the world? Many people order new vehicles and then go see them being built.

This idea was mentioned by Paul Elio, and regardless of whether or not Elio Motors decides to make it available, the fact remains that in modern plants it really is not that hard to do as vehicles are all simply placed in a production queue and the computer can constantly estimate when any vehicle will be built.

Eddie I have no delusions, I'm a realist in most situations but there's nothing wrong in dreaming about what it would be like to watch YOUR vehicle being built! That's why I mentioned the photo of YOUR Elio at the end of production.
Thought about this for awhile. While there are tech heads and others out there who would love to watch their Elio being built, me not so much. Yes, Yes I know I said I would but in reality I'm not much on hurry up and wait. Like I said I'm a bit of a realist and if you've ever been in a factory of any kind, stuff happens, lines shut down for a number of different reasons. Factory walk through tour okay. I just want to see my brand spankin new, shiny blue Elio in the end! Wife might like it though, as she works in a factory, as a line mechanic.

Personally, I am fine with that. I simply like the idea of seeing the process of something I will have followed for over 1 1/2 years. :-) Z

Don't get me wrong, I would love to see it happen just the way you guys are dreaming it. I just think it would be asking alot of a start up company, who will be trying to produce some 60,000 vehicles, by time production starts, to be organized enough, to track the progress of each vehicle, and coordinate that with the arrival of each owner. I have to admitt, it would make you feel somewhat special, and would go a long way from a PR prospective, but I doubt very seriously they will be that well organized when production starts. I'd settle for a wecome greeting, a cup of coffee, and a quick tour.

from 10+ years of working in the RV industry during which I've toured bunches of different factories, sometimes when folks see how quickly their camper is put together it can be a bit unnerving .... what's the old saying that for most folks who like sausage its best not to see it being made
