From Jerome's mouth to my ear- WPB Barrett Auction 60hp, and clearly, as in no discussion ,to the consternation of a lot of folks- no options ONLY the Elgin dash

QUOTE: "...your knowledge and insights of 'how they roll' has no validity..."
Your saying, with a straight face, that EM does not display "projection" stats with no disclaimers in sight?

Answering with facts. Mmmm... Ok.... Who's "facts"? EM's?
Well, we can certainly say that those have always been 100% accurate.

Thanks for violating the advice you so often give others by accusing me of being a troll.
Simply because my questioning of EM's tactics does not coincide with your beliefs.

As I've said, I've always had the utmost for you.
If you so choose to become defensive and personal, and give me a nasty lable because I don't agree with you...
By all means, I encourage you to do the ethical thing, exercise your freedom, and block me.
Kum ba yah to you brother.

Vassallo said almost the same thing previously and then was proven wrong by his own company's press release.
So yes, I certainly do have every right to doubt or believe as I wish.

So... he answered "yes" at WPB.

Was he specifically asked if the motor had produced 60HP on the dynomometer, or only if the "banner was correct"?
It seems to me that EM has considered those to be two entirely different questions in the past.

The home page of EM, in huge letters says, "84MPG Highway 49MPG City" and "$6800" with NO disclaimers in sight!
I've had ads popping up on various websites for almost a year that say "84MPG" and "$6800" with NO disclaimers.
So I'd say I'm justified in saying that "thats the way these guys" (normally) "roll".

QUOTE: "...that is entirely different than jumping to a conclusion that they never will ...."
Are you trying to tell me and others here that I jumped to a conclusion when I did no such thing?

Thanks guys.

Look, I'm not trying to be an ---...
But that sign does not specifically say, "This engine produced 60HP in a dynomometer test."
As far as I know, no one from EM has verbally said exactly that either.
My edjumacated guess is that this is just another "projected" estimate and/or goal.
They've been showing signs that say "84mpg" and "$6800" with no disclaimers next to those statements for how long now?

C'mon, that's the way these guys roll.

Proof in the puddin': The sign also says 100+mph and the engine has never been installed in a vehicle.
Though they might have thrown it in the bed of pickup enabling it to technically travel at 100+mph.

But I doubt it.
Back in mid-2013, when they were moving away from advertising a 1.0L/70hp engine, they were all over the place on specs. For a while, they were advertising a 60hp engine, before finally settling on 55hp. I suspect they may have printed up signage with the 60hp figures, and just pulled one of those out of storage.

Mr Blocker may not realize that you were not calling him a liar. There is no reason to think that he is not accurately reporting what JV told him. If you are indicating that your confidence in Jerome's veracity is low, I would complement you on your astuteness.

I wouldn't stress on being classed as a troll. There's plenty of room here under the bridge, and that bridge is about the only think that Elio Motors is really good at building. JEB doesn't like to call people trolls. He just sits in the back of the room and shouts AMEN! when somebody else shouts TROLL!

FWIW, a Troll (as defined here) is someone who has watched this long enough to say "Wait a minute! That doesn't add up."

First Neal, now you. http://elioowners.com/threads/paul-elio-at-st-francis-university.5790/page-23#post-97599

I'm sorry that you are sick, but whether quiet or noisy, the naysayer group will continue to grow, because the evidence will continue to grow until it is overwhelming. Actually, the available evidence is more than convincing, but most haven't even asked the questions, much less done the research.

If you really believe that Elio will meet their June 2016 production target, maybe you could help Mary out. http://elioowners.com/threads/elio-reservation-4590-for-sale.6039/

Another fine example of a civilized discussion resulting from one's opinions being disagreed with and one's beliefs being challenged.

News flash for all:

The original person that posted the picture of the sign at NASCAR stated that the picture was taken on February 27.
It's the exact same sign that they had at WPB April 17 - 19.

Here's the link for the NASCAR picture.

PE was asked if the motor "met their power and torque benchmarks" at the New York International Auto Show.
He answered "No". He went on to say that "everything was within 5% of their targets".
They have always said that their target for HP on the IAV engine was 55HP.
The New York International Auto Show was when?
Drumroll please...
March 25 - April 3.

Vassallo's sign at NASCAR and WPB states 60HP.
He's asked at WPB if the sign "is correct".
What's he going to say? NO?

The truth and this link to PE's quote will set you free.

OMG, how could this possibly be!
I feel so disillusioned and betrayed!

Blindly believing everything someone tells you and continually making excuses for them enables them.
They will not alter their current pattern of behavior until you stop enabling them.

I didn't even have to try to pretend to exaggerate on this one.
I'd offer up some crow, but we have vegans here.

I've been following EM since '08 and my opinion is that Elio Motors can't possibly meet their anticipated 2016 production schedule, but I hope to be saying in 2017, I don't believe that's an Elio setting in my driveway. The days are rapidly flying by and no tangible progress, with the exception of roadshows.

Since no-one seems to believe me about stats with no disclaimers, I'll post the ad that's currently at the bottom of my screen.

yes .... its a most definite leap from because it hasn't been officially noted to it will never happen

over time I've found that exchanges of this type with folks don't accomplish anything positive .... some note it as feeding the trolls .... if you want direct info, how about going to one of the tour stops and ask your questions using the exact terminology of your choosing

I don't believe any of us outside of the company know exactly where the project stands and that all of us outside the company are wondering .... the good news is, every day that passes brings us closer to production or to an acknowledgement that they can't go into production .... about all I can see is to sit back and watch
