..........."wouldn't it make sense that PE would never have.......".........
While I was being sued by the owner of a nursing home my attorney, who was admitted to practice before SCOTOS, advised me never to agree with that type of question. So on advice from counsel, 'No it would not make sense!'

If you don't know who Lois Lerner is Google her.

I remember a Vice President of the company I worked for answering a question by saying.........
"Those things which are verbally true may be factually inaccurate"

PE has no obligation to phrase things the way you want them nor do I.

It was not meant to be a leading question.
If it were, it would have began with the classic, "Wouldn't you agree that..."

From the article that I provided a link to, that describes a PE interview at the NY show:
"I asked Paul Elio if it met their power and torque benchmarks and he gave me a straightforward, “No.” Elio, who perpetually smiles, continued that everything was within 5% of their targets, within normal developmental range as he described it. Translated to numbers, 5% means that they were less than 2.8 horsepower shy of their 55 hp projection."

As for the rest of your last post...
Still not seeing what all that has to do with absolutely anything that was talked about here.
Even if I was able to decifer what you were talking about, I still get the feeling that it wouldn't deserve a response.

"PE has no obligation to... nor do I."
Even more machisimo? Really?
Enough already! You got me! I give up!
My sides hurt too badly to go on! :D

So, PE's reply was "no." Did you then follow up with the question, "Did it Exceed the target?" I don't think that I am alone in noticing that the "proposed" hp has gone from 55 to 60.

I am not naive in "hoping" it will be produced...no matter how long it takes. I have also been around long enough to know how poisonous negative talk can be to a startup.

I also know that, in this age of technology, NO ONE can hide from Libelous statements made on-line. If I was EM, (and I am not affiliated with them in any way) I would be quietly collecting ip addresses...you know, "in case" things go south.

Have a nice day. :)

Uh... again...
"Wouldn't it make sense that PE would never have left that in doubt if even one of the parameters was met or exceeded?
Something like, "We exceeded our targets on some of the specs and are within 5% of our targets on the rest".

If you're going to try to match wits and attempt to scare heretics with talk of libel suits, please read more carefully.
You've worded your question as if I were the person that asked the questions in the PE NY show interview.
I've even edited the post of which you speak to make it more obvious that I was quoting the article.
Although I did use quotation marks and indicated where the quote was from the first time.

I can live with "Proposed". But apparently the changing HP is not being clarified as, or being represented as, "proposed".
Since it would not have made any sense for PE not to mention meeting or exceeding a target HP on the dyno in that interview...
You should also realize via the timeline, that the HP supposedly "went" from "almost 60" to 52.2 (or less) and then...
With no mention of further testing from anyone... miraculously went back up to "60".

I've been around long enough and have had enough experience in owning and running a business that depended on numerous public images.
Enough, that is, to say that I know how poisonous a pattern of behavior like the one that EM has consistantly been displaying can be to a startup.
I just recently learned about the FB rep fiasco that happened on the day PE announced the latest delay.
I agree. Pathetic.

That's exactly why I recommend that the kool-aid drinkers stop enabling that behavior.
Those folks are not doing themselves any favors.

Libelous? OMG.
Again, so very machisimo.
Copy paste one statement I've made that will hold up in any US court as libel against EM.
Apparently what you know and what you think you know are two different things.

However, the collection you describe is out there waiting, and it would give EM, and many here,
the excuse to blame someone other than EM themselves if they fail.
How convenient.

LOL- something else to waste money on that won't accomplish anything. That would be a fitting end.

:p

* FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE*

For some time now, we at Elio Motors have spoken of our many paths to getting "F'd" (funded). We are pleased to announce that Elio Motors has retained the firm of Padgett and Nollan to represent us in legal action against the 30,000 or more Facebook "trolls" that are to blame for our failures, even though we managed to fail once already without even having a Facebook page. Elio Motors stands to be awarded as much as 867 bazillion dollars, which should go a long way toward reaching our goal to be on track for targeting a strategy to form a dedicated team of top industry executives that will explore new methods to raise the remaining funds needed to pay the salaries of our dedicated team of top industry executives! :)

Read some of your posts Mr./Mrs. Chaos, still can't figure out what your problem is.

Says the guy who believes in imaginary vehicles.

My avatar is a chariot pulled by unicorns, like all my avatars. It's a metaphor for the mythical Elio vehicle. Nice attempt at shaming me, but you'll have to try harder.

Now that we know each other a little better, perhaps we can be friends.

And that isn't My Little Pony.

Oh yeah, my problem... I forgot.

My problem is watching the greatest generation throw down their pension checks on a pipe dream.

My problem is watching Jerome V. (EDIT: it was Joel S., not Jerome) mouth off on the subject of how he doesn't care about angry reservation holders frustrated by continual delays.

My problem is watching these clowns pretend they can fund this project.

My problem is watching my friends who hold reservations die without ever seeing one vehicle roll off the line, much less their own.

It's actually a multitude of problems.

I don't know what your problem is with unicorns, either- but it's of little interest to me. Unicorns are awesome. And *this* is My Little Pony-
