We were told it would take 6 months to test the engine,, but we weren't told if they would be consecutive months.
I beginning to think it might be a month every now and then. You know, when ever they can spare the time.
Love it -LMAO!! give it some time, and folks will-

Any one of these folks could cut a check (http://www.forbes.com/forbes-400/list)
& Elio would be off to the races. What is perplexing is not one has expressed any
interest publicly or offered to partner with any of Elio's principals. The Elio project
is a no-brainer on a variety of levels but must present too much risk for the serious
money to jump in at this point.........Though most of these Billionaires aren't risk
averse, so what gives?

It really isn't that perplexing. While Paul Elio had a great idea, perhaps a number of great ideas, the numbers don't work. Neither the financial numbers, nor the engineering numbers, nor nor the timeline numbers, nor even the sales numbers. Big money people tend to look at the numbers, and base their decisions accordingly. That is how most of them became, and remain big money people.

Add in the deceptive marketing and poor track record, and there should be little question as to why the money is not coming in.

If you had mastered the art of "THE BLOCK", you would neither have read my post nor posted a reply. The only real question is whether you have the self-control to not read or reply in the future. Maybe you could go back to your plugging your ears and yelling "Nyah, nyah, nyah" (posting unrelated trivia).

You seem to conflate evidence and proof. Had you researched and analyzed the numbers available, there are only a few explanations that match the criteria. The deceptive advertising and poor track record are obvious to anyone not blinded by the brilliance of the original idea. That brilliance continues to fade in the light of actual results.

I with you on the poor track record, though I think i am more understanding and believe the "why" for the delays more than you. But, I have yet to see deceptive advertising.

I'll give you some examples. I don't expect you to be convinced. They seem pretty obvious to me, but others seem not to see the deception.

No Elio ever has got 84mpg highway. The best they did was 66mpg in real life, and 81.4 in computer sims. Still adertising 84mpg.

No Elio has ever had ABS or stability control. The snow video claims that Elio does well in the snow because it has them.

Production dates: Elio has repeatedly had to move the projected production dates to about 15-18 months into the future. They have continued to advertise the same dates well past the time they knew it was impossible to meet those dates.

They continued to shout "2015, the 2016 date is wrong", right up to, and including, the day Paul announced the last production delay.

They claimed financing was in place repeatedly, while knowing that financing was not in place.

They claimed the engine was on the dyno last November, and was being tested for months, but Paul later stated that the first dyno run was this March.

They lied about the reason the engine was not unveiled in February.

They do not put standard advertising disclaimers on their website.

They promised test drives would be available in 2014.

They temporarily dropped the bonus percentage to push the fence-sitters into sending in money.

They keep running "specials" on the bonus to trick the uniformed into thinking that the bonus is a unique thing, and that they need to hurry and send in money. The current one is "Spring Promotion".

They have presented the engine as being real for 2 years, but it was not. Even now, they present the engine as a done deal, when there is only one produced, and only a two-minute video as evidence of any testing.

They presented the engine mockup as being real in the roadshows. They did not present it as a plastic model.

I just saw an article that talked about forgiving mistakes, but punishing patterns. Elio's advertising is a pattern of deception, not an honest campaign with a mistake or two.

You sound like my Teabagger GOP congressman complaining about "Obamacare" (expect when his out of work neighbor got cancer and had to use it)
Yes the world is full of scam artists, I'd trust Paul him a lot more than my brothers, who were frankly all not be trusted. I sure hope someday I'll get to use the Elio I think I purchased. Paul needs to go on "Shark Tank"

Cool. Troll and Teabagger. Any more cogent arguments to add to the conversation?

Feel free to make several more reservations. At 50% return for a 15-18 month investment, you are passing up a wonderful opportunity if you don't send in more money. RESERVE YOUR ELIO TODAY! SPRING PROMOTION! eliomotors.com

First of all, you don't know when they heard, what they knew or when they knew it. So judging your statements by the same offset you use, your just as much of a scam as you claim Elio is.

Frankly much of the conclusions you have are based on what the worst guess was by other people. And too every bit of PR work I've ever seen would fail your measurement. So it's kind of useless to use these supposed factoids. It is a lie to say they ARE facts when they are really assumptions.

On the other hand all of us optimists are using assumptions galore, but at least most of us are honest about it.

Anyway, none of this fired up, 'I'm enraged' anger talk maters at all. It really is about the financing and if EM is serious about completing the project. Will they put this incremental money into the next things that have to be accomplished to satisfy new investment? How likely are they to be able and willing to do this?

We really can only make a guess based on belief.

I saw a trailer showing a company hawking an aircar to the Sharks this week. Interesting to see how they view possible investments in transportation.

EM has apparently raised some $60 million to date.......need another $240 Million to produce. Frankly, a shark or group of shark investors willing to put up that kind of venture capital, would expect to own big shark share of EM. EM should be eager and willing to give up some equity to make it happen before the dream ends. The sharks may be very impressed by Elio Motors sales without an actual product to sell.
