I think a Factory 'Maintenance Manuel" will be a good investment,
though I expect there to be a warranty maintenance schedule for
the first 36 months..........

Can you imagine if they started off with just their "60 largest markets" stores being authorized service centers? Sure, if there isn't a Pep Boys nearby it will be inconvenient but it's bound to be better than the roughly 1 per state that Elio would have had. I think it's a good start. I would think that they will address the areas that have no service centers eventually. Hopefully, with as simple as the Elio is, it won't need much servicing. My $60K+ truck hasn't needed service yet and a light, simple, car shouldn't need much in the way of service either.
EDIT - I just looked at Pep Boy's map... Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota... sorry guys out there. I hope Elio gets something in place for that huge chunk of the country. (as well as all the other markets around)
I'm going to do the same thing I did with my Camry. My son bought the manual and anytime someone tells me I need something done, I call him and he checks it out before I agree to any work other than oil changes and tires. If I have to check something myself, he tells me how to do it and what to look for. Oil changes and tires I can trust myself with unguided decisions. :-) ZI think a Factory 'Maintenance Manuel" will be a good investment..........

Makes sense to me.[/quote]"Ty, post: 15973, member: 502"]They said that Elio stores would handle areas away from Pep Boys as a beginning.
Kent, welcome to the forum and the Elio family. The forum has the latest information, facts, rumors, and opinions. There is always someone who will try to answer any question you may have. In a press release Today Elio announced that by the time production begins they will have service providers in nearly every market. Welcome and enjoy the Elio experienceI live in Memphis, Tn. The two closest Pep Boys are Little Rock Arkansas (almost 200 miles away), or Nashville, TN (over 200 miles away). The state of Mississippi to my south has NO Pep Boys in the entire state. Maybe I can buy a pickup truck and a trailer to haul my Elio in when it needs service. Oh wait, that would eliminate any cost savings of buying the Elio
It is a first step. At least we aren't stuck with just 60 stores to get service. By the way, if the Elio store is closer, you'll be able to get service there as Elio said that they'd do that in markets that didn't have a Pep Boys. Plus, they are working on other options to get service to people.far away. Good luck.I live in Memphis, Tn. Hi and welcome from Oregon, Kent. I live in one of the 12 states that have no Pep Boys. In fact the nearest is Seattle/Tacoma area. I live in southern Oregon. That is a long enough trip that I usually drive to Eugene, OR and then take Amtrak the rest of the way. Do you think Amtrak will let me take my Elio on board with me? LOL I hope you find this forum interesting as well as entertaining as we explore our way to Elio ownership. There is a lot of information, some great pictures and some stories that are definitely worth reading. Enjoy this adventure. Elio will be worth it in the end. :-) ZI live in Memphis, Tn.
