I am. Hey, my 23 year old was the first I had to deal with as far as cars are concerned. I had found a "fixer upper" Pontiac Grand Am that I was going to give to her and right before that came to be, I found a Dodge Avenger that needed engine work. It had shelled a piston... didn't hurt the crank but the piston and rod were toast as were the valves. I told the Daughter that if she wanted the Dodge, she'd have to help me rebuild it and I didn't mean just hand me a wrench on occasion. She liked the power windows and stereo and the car was immaculate. It had been sitting in front of a house for some time as it was pretty new when it died and was too expensive to fix. I got that car for $400. Anyway, she actually helped. I'd have her remove things like the alternator and water pump with minimal instructions so she'd have to figure it out. Anyway, that Dodge was such a heap. Those 2.7L engines were the worst. In fact, she didn't like the car because it was hard to see out of and was just bigger than she thought. So, we sold it and let her pay the difference for a used Honda CRV. She didn't want to sell the car she worked on but just couldn't stand it. She saw how some hard work turned a $400 car into a $5,000 car. She still talks about rebuilding that car with me.With all the things we work on in our lives, there is nothing that gives more satisfaction than having our kids grow into responsible and honorable people. Hard to say if it is good parenting, good teachers, good friends, luck or a combination of all. Congrats on your family. You sound pretty happy about how they are doing. My three sons have provided great satisfaction to me as we dragged their first car home when they were 16 and then got it running and ready to drive. We spent hours together swapping an engine, doing body work, replacing parts and chasing electrical gremlins. My son's know a little more about cars and we have a laugh about some of the things we did. Not fancy cars, but they got them around. Now have 3 grandkids and 3 respectable and hard working sons. Two in college now, but they are working hard to make their way. They all tease me about my Elio, but are all looking forward to borrowing it from me. My car has never seen the inside of the garage.
