Today was about getting the new strut top mountings together, and you can see it's all much neater looking now up there, as per the CAD drawing ...

I put the CV shafts in and had to move the engine/gearbox 12mm/0.5" to the right, which was fine as I had already provided for that possibility.

Mark, for this first prototype, are you going to have custom glass made, or just section out a regular windshield?
When sectioning, the most reliable method for DIY people has been to sand-blast the cuts.
.

Oh for sure try to cut it out of a common car. Cracking is less of an issue for the narrow car, as it is the corners that are the biggest dangers for cracking, and my cuts are well inside the corners.

I have cut previously with a tile cutter successfully, and I know some use water jet. Custom car shops cut glass often for chop tops, there's a few videos on Youtube.

Of the homebuilt car, kit car and other resto car groups I am in, getting older model glass is a big headache, so i would like to avoid bespoke glass.

looking at the angle and mounting points of the struts it appears you have a decent shot at shaping the body around them .... sure hope so, they look good and from the video clearly do the job

I can go tighter yet with the suspension package, and may have to, as i think I have too much ground clearance at the moment, and don't want to take the strut tops up any higher (to lower the car).

I didn’t know Mark was a test dummy

Just a "dummy", ask my wife and she will confirm it.

what I was wondering is with the Vanderhall and some other being front wheel drive I was wondering if there was one already in production that might work on a BEX
