I went and paid for that car today, then waited in line at what you would call the DMV all afternoon as their computers went down.
Got going again just before closing time, but I didn't make it through, so back in the morning to continue to wait.
They did take my 'V8' license plate back though, dang narn it!

In the Facebook group, one of the Members drew this up, I thought it was quite amusing and very clever, just posting it here for fun ...

As one of the earlier Elio advocates (3419) and Elio stock owners, I must say I'm impressed. This will make me return to this thread and revise my interest

just wondering and a comment ....

1. what general type of suspension are you considering .... sports car ? ... touring ? .... off road ?

Pretty much a city/touring setup in terms of springs and dampers.

Type of suspension is undetermined right now, in as much as it relates to the front bodywork which I haven't determined yet. Struts are easy and cheap, but more difficult for styling for this layout.

2. have you considered designing it to be flat towed .... there is a significant potential market of folks who travel in motorhomes ....

Has been mentioned more than once. For a manual trans I can't see any reason why you couldn't put the rear wheel on a pivoting tow hitch setup.

I believe that to be a sound decision .... the smoother the ride, the better .... I know that for us the smoothness of the ride will be a major factor in determining how much we will be able to use ours

I'd guess that it would be mechanically possible but doing so would open a can of worms that could eat up time and resources .... meeting the wide range of state and federal codes for light and license plate displays would take considerable study .... if not flat towed, a tow dolly would be the most viable option .... that way lighting and license plates would be properly positioned

I always hoped, at least one of the big manufacturers would go through with some of their concepts/exercises and take them into production. It took me 20 years to realize – they will not build a vehicle with the benefits of an Elio or Mark's vehicle. Bottom line – the big guys are too greedy. I guess they are so bloated, they have to gouge us to be profitable?

That's why I'm pulling for this project. There is and always has been a need for a vehicle like this. Now more than ever... the way I see it.
