I'm so sorry. These pets often think they the same as us. And we often think they are too. And to tell the truth, I have no argument against that.
I'm 100% convinced we'll meet up together on the 'other side'. And at that point, there won't be no communication limits.
Love will be love, always.

Thank you all.
This is strange, my Abyssinian (Taz) is acting depressed and like he's grieving.
Squeak we got when he was 2, and so they've been in the same house, but they were never really close like he is with the Manx.
He's been checking on me and Donna and when he's need me, he wants to be cuddled; this is Mr. Tough guy, I don't sit on laps, I don't like being petted, I just like to be in the room with you, so back off.
Wanting to be cuddled like a baby; and while I hold him he purrs really loud, and drools (or a runny nose).
When Jr. and Trina died, he was nothing like this; this is just strange for him.
Who says cats don't have personalities.

I've been a cat lover all my life, and each one takes a big chunk of you when they go. They are each unique and, as far as I'm concerned, intelligent and sentient beings whose purposes in life are mysterious. But teaching us humility and respect must surely be among their reasons for being. I look forward to seeing them in the next life, where hopefully I will have gained enough wisdom to finally speak their language as well as they speak ours.

My sympathies to you, Coss.

Sorry to hear about it. That's a pretty cat.

And yes, cats do grieve for the loss of another cat in the house, even if it seems like they don't like other. We noticed the same thing when one of our prior cats passed. Our one remaining cat would wander around the house meowing, like she was searching for him.

Gosh, I don't know how to say this. Hmm just simply, cats process energy. They can just sit in the same space and 'commune' with each other, no visible body language involved. They will often process your energy too. By energy let's just call that emotional energy, and avoid a huge off topic subject.
So I'm not at all surprised Taz shows effects. Fortunately they get over this faster than we do.
If I'm at all worried about my cat, and can't see her, she will always show up and give me the WTF meyow.

I'd sooner spend time with my cats, Helen, and Vinnie, then with many folks- starting with relatives!
There is no question that we share something special with them.
I'm sorry for your loss, I know the tragedy. I'm thankful for the time we have together.

One of our barn cats passed away Sunday at the age of about 2 years. Always an aggressive hunter, we suspect he took on a snake and died of a neurotoxin poison within about 24 hours. The vet and the animal ER were deeply concerned, but there wasn't much they could do. So Black Label is gone, having lost the few remaining lives his adventuresome soul possessed. You never "own" a feral cat, you just rent them for a time, exchanging their pest control talents for treats and an occasional rub.

Farewell Blackie, we and your "little sister" will miss you.
Your evil look hid a mellow personality.
