City buses are notorious for heavily subsidizing passengers. I looked at a couple out of curiousity (download their budgets, passenger loads, fare revenue; it's pretty easy) and tickets only covered something like 25% of the cost.

Trains are worse.

Try it yourself. Pick some light rail, subway, or metro bus system, find their budget data online. Might have to try several if they are good at hiding the data inside 500 page PDFs.
I hear things like this from time to time. I'm not saying that I don't believe you, but I do find it hard to believe. NJ Transit's NE Corridor was $20+ each way from Trenton to NYC during peak times. Here in Colorado CDOT is starting up a bus service from Fort Collins (where I live) to Denver (where I work). Only problem is fares will be $20. That's roughly six times what my commute is currently costing me

If I'm correct I believe that only Caddo Parish has some economic incentives and that the State of Louisiana has not provided any. The only other "incentive" would be the ATVM loan.

Louisiana Economic Development has guaranteed EM incentives only after the 1500 jobs are in place and manufacturing begins. The Caddo Parrish's Industrial Development Board has already bankrolled $7.5 Million in public dollars with EM's promise of high paying jobs.

In California, motorcycles must park with their rear wheel toughing the curb. There is effort by EM to change helmet and license laws. What about changing parking laws?

On two internet sites, I have heard the elio has a lock-free trunk lid. I assume there is no way of unlocking it with the key from the outside. Does it have a trunk release from inside the cabin? I would think so but then, the engine lid can not be locked to prevent outside intrusion.

So, can the trunk lid be locked to prevent outside intrusion?

Wait a minute........a foot activated power lift trunk lid along with that lock. I remember reading Elio's mention of a lockable lid reply on their facebook page some time back.

Sure, but it's still a subsidy, and I'm not afraid to admit it and be thankful for it. Just like I am thankful for the food stamps my mom was on when we were kids and for the food stamps that helped get me through a few very tough years in college.

America--It's a group effort.
And about half of the group puts in the effort.

I am concerned that if you keep calling it an autocar instead of a motorcycle, Big Brother will require a car and motorcycle licence, you will have to wear a helmet and seatbelt and a shoulder harness AND be required to pay auto-mobile and motorcycle insurance. It's a motorcycle with a roof, no "trap you in the burning car" seat belt, no $1000 per year auto insurance payment.
