not to worry- it'll be an autocar
I don't want it to be an autocar in California because then California will require smog tests of it every two years like it does cars. I am ordering my elio this early so it will be grandfathered in and titled as a motorcycle, not needing these smog tests every two years.

and? what's the downside? seems to me smog made the papers like China today without regulation ,you'd be walking around w/masks . AND now we hear from it's my right to choose if and how I want to die, and no stinking government will pry this mask off my cold dead hands!

On two internet sites, I have heard the elio has a lock-free trunk lid. I assume there is no way of unlocking it with the key from the outside. Does it have a trunk release from inside the cabin? I would think so but then, the engine lid can not be locked to prevent outside intrusion.

So, can the trunk lid be locked to prevent outside intrusion?
The prototype is lock free, Jerome told me that the production model will have a lock.

So when is the big day? I have heard from Elio that EM is still waiting on IAV to clear a date. Hopefully we'll know this week when the Big Day is scheduled. What this bit of information tells us is that there is not an engine problem, as some have supposed. It's a room-at-the-inn problem.

the emergency that caused the delay must have been a dandy to take this long to resolve

Please correct me if I am wrong. I believe an article was published a while back saying IAV was expanding due to too much work and one of the things they needed the most was more engine testing stations. Has anyone else seen something to this effect.

EKH,

From what I hear its all about funding. Hard to run an engine when there is no funding to run it.
