Yes you have sun , but the cost of building and maintaining it will never be recovered . It can only work if someone else is paying a bit share of the cost. Just like passenger rail and hybrid cars. Someone else has to pay for it.
"just like passenger rail and hybrid cars". That also includes EVs and the Elio. If someone pays just a little bit more ($180 Million) we may get our Elio's and EM stands to reap the huge profits from government incentives as a result. They wouldn't have to make a dime on the Elio motorcycle.

Loan, not Grant!
Rail? I think the nearest train station is about 100 miles from me.
Government incentives? That is hypothetical at this point.
Oh, and Elio is not a "hybrid".

No, I think he means the Chinese companies we paid off that never produced a single cell.

Feel free to tell me how solar works in a place where we've seen full sunshine 7 days since October. Those days, BTW are about 10 hours long on average up here.

Solar is a scam. Go hydro...oh wait, a fish might die...go nuke...ahh never mind. How about a cheap fossil fueled car?
Germany is nearly always cloudly, and are also a leading country in solar as a percentage of their supply.

Correct, from this solar map, you can see all of the US is better (even Maine and Washington) than all of Mid-Northern Europe.

You may be 100 miles from a train station or passenger rail service but you pay for it. You pay so those in Chicago and other major cities ride at a price they will pay. You pay so AMTRAK employees get paid better than non government class 1 rail roads do you pay to keep them running at huge losses every year with no end in sight. You are without knowing it paying to turn a train station in Milwaukee in to a work of art for millions even when few will ever use it.
Of course ELIO is not a hybrid it is a car that makes sense it will provide huge fuel saving with out a subsidized hidden cost to all tax payers.
If ELIO gets any money it will not be a grant it will be a guarantee of the loan, big difference.
Like solar it can not cover the cost they must be paid for by those not using it for it to work. Your electric rates are going up now so they can cover losses on solar and wind they are required to put in.

Sounds like you and I agree on all of those issues.
Please let me have my Elio so I can cut down on costs. Pretty please?

If you aren't paying for trains, you'd pay for roads. Part of the benefit of paying for trains is that all those people are off the roads and are being transported in a more efficient manner.
No funds for trains are stolen out of highway funds paid by those that use the roads. The stolen money is then given to trains that few use and those that do use them do not pay for . Big difference Highway funds are stolen to build million dollar bike trails that few use in the hood. Look at Milwaukee.
Highway funds are taken and passed on to all kinds of projects that have nothing to do with highways. Not against passenger Rail or commuter rail just they should pay their way . Not one is self supporting not even close.

I think the Caddo Parrish (Local Government) incentives and involvement to date goes way beyond hypothetical.
I favor government involvement and the programs to develop all forms of alternative energy and alternative transportation options by the private sector.

You think the Elio is a Hybrid vehicle?
