The single best lesson to learn in politics once and for all: 95 percent of all this garbage about green is to generate and leverage enough falsely perceived problems as to then place oneself as the solution and thus continue a privileged life as a politician. Us citizens are but to stay dumb and stupid and to buy into all this National media driven green propaganda stuff. That is not to say conserving and saving resources is not a good idea. It's the expounding of constant lies and extortion to extent that the Pres waists billions just to fund his crony friends in give-a-ways like Solyndra. I'm ashamed to claim Al Gore as from my State he's but a talking blow hard who is swimming in the lie and the resultant snake oil sales routine.
The truth is that gasoline is and will be for the foreseeable future the single most abundant, inexpensive, and most BTU saturated fuel source on the planet. A president pious enough to manipulate petroleum, coal and gas with trumped up and false accusations and regulations just to support the green propaganda lie has something other than the best interest of this nation in mind. And once again you the voting public have no clue of the damage he does every day.
"Whattheelf" The builder of the "Elf" is nothing more than a liberal feeling sorry for the masses again and just about as appropriate as your president's and most liberal solutions. The elf builder even buys all the green propaganda garbage.

The single best thing about the Elio is that it touches a nerve in this nation that is looking for a real and practical solution. Rational Frugal transportation at a better than reasonable price with mostly American parts for permanent serviceability (pretty and fun to drive to boot). I see nothing else that comes close to the measure the Elio in this. Guess what? It conserves more fuel than the green freaks too. The Elf doesn't count because it simply wont survive in traffic.

With my direct experience within startups, and negotiating at each round of funding, yes while NDAs may be part of securing funding, usually to add credibility to a launch of a critical product, or to repair a damaged history, such as here, often its to a company's advantage to announce when they secure funding, to secure greater interest and confidence. It is not uncommon whatsoever to see funding hit multiple press releases. To withhold such information, at this point, is another bad sign. I'll have to locate the CNBC interview I believe where Paul puts the blame on bankers not cooperating, was fairly recent, which also was neither wise, nor productive.
Off topic, but there are few from MA here. What area you in? Are you going to the upcoming mall showing and which mall do you think they are going to pick?

I was planning driving down to the Stamford CT showing, if something is closer I will indeed check it out, and see if there will be any opportunity to talk with someone in greater detail.

Everyone is entitled to their political beliefs but this is hardly the place to be spouting them. There are plenty of forums where it is more appropriate. Please respect that. Thank you. :) Z

Hell yeh!! Throw the bum out>>>
Yes ,Tazairforce, sad we folks have but one alternative and that is throwing the bums out for squandering billions instead of backing something like the Elio.
Zelio, I find it quite appropriate to address those who would miss the whole point of the Elio and confuse it with something as stupid and insincere as the "Elf" compared with the Elio. Sorry, Zelio, but you are quite political for instructing me one way of the other. Confusion over all this hype about saving the planet is but a ruse that interferes most definitely with Elio concept. Just some frank conclusions on no nonsense solutions without all the flowery language about green please.

As a life long oilfield worker, taxpayer,American patriot,I just want to say thanks for your support and common sense! I have finally worked my way up the line from a labor to a soon to be engineer(putting myself completely through school with zero assistance) , I always tell people against big oil that if it weren't for drilling along California (and other places) oil would be seeping into the ocean at a higher rate, this is a proven fact (yes I know there was a big Bp oil spill) but oil will flow through sand....that's why they frac with sand, which comes to another topic... Most People in Pennsylvania were against fracing claiming it ruined there water only to turn a profit...Cabot oil and gas, drilling in Pennsylvania tests the water of 200 homes near every well drilled, most all of these wells have helped the ground water by reducing natural gas seeps Into drinking water, what the people against hydraulic fracturing don't tell you is people In Pennsylvania have been lighting there water wells on fire for hundreds of years due to natural gas migrating to the earths surface or there well water.

Thanks Keith. I think I made Zero I mean Zelio push her ignore button on me but i certainly hope not cause I like her. I drink Keystone too.
You are wrong; I did not put you on ignore. I believe this a place to discuss Elio so that is what I focus on. This is the first forum I have ever been on and I love sharing ideas about Elio. I also like learning about the different aspects of vehicle building, etc. that some of our members are very knowledgeable about. To me this is also very much related to Elio. I am thrilled to be in on this wonderful adventure as an observer of a process never offered by any other manufacturer. I feel I will know more about my Elio than any other car I have ever owned. That does not mean I expect to know how to repair it but it does mean I will at least know or hope to know the right questions to ask and whether I am being lied to when they are answered. If all else fails, I can always call my son in Toledo, OH like I do now and ask him. LOL :-) Z

Just a followup on this... I was reading the comments at the bottom of the above column... a guy was all-in for an Aptera, and so he posted about that... but his main comment was about how the Elio and Aptera were so similar. After reading Dustoff's link above, it seemed clear to me that they are not the same, Elio and Aptera. So I replied to his comment and listed about 6 reasons why they are different, and told the guy I was sorry for the Aptera dying, and I would if I were him wait until Elios were on the road before he bought one.

Get this: Jo Borras gave a comment to what I said: "Actually very well said". Anybody remember the TV show "Sanford and Son"? Quote: "Whoooa Elizabeth.... *hand over the heart*... it's the big one!!" LOL
