I find this type of speculative discussion very negative to moving Elio forward in a more supportive and positive way. I think it's actually an op ed writer trying to divide the fan base and slow Elio's pre-reservation numbers in the process................hoping that early on negative anti Elio op ed news articles comes true...........while having some fun doing it..........yes fun. Perhaps all responding to his speculation are having some fun too, but I don't get it. Very confusing to new members checking out this FAN based site. IMHO

Yes they do and I didn't say they shouldn't post and or report. I implied it was negative to Elio and I don't understand that kind of speculative debate as an Elio fan.

The problem with forums is they are 2 dimensional at best. As such, the dynamic often evolves into a groupthink environment, and various members choosing a role or personality to suit.

A new person enters into a discussion, and unless that dovetails within the groupthink, you are the immediate outcast, subject to a long predictable series of personal attacks.

From there as a new person attempts to explain or offer some details around why their opinion is that way, groupthink steadily rebels, takes it personally, as its disruptive to the clubhouse mentality. In that situation someone like myself is asked many questions, to support my position, attempting to corner me, or reveal me as some kind of maverick, rather than focusing on what information has been provided, to discuss, which is an attempt to belittle my presentation and presence.

Though I remain a fan of the design, I'm just not a fan of the company, or rather the management team in place. This company needs a team that can execute on managing the plant facility operations, and most importantly, managing the major funding deficit, both of which should of been nailed down a year ago. From where I come from you get fired for nonperformance on that metric. You can't manage business with designers and engineers, you need a business team with a WELL established PRIOR and successful track record. To secure next round funding, investors (ie; banks, private equity, etc, NOT reservations) are ONLY buying into a team that can execute on the plan, and NOT how cool the Elio is.

So far, plan execution has been nothing short of an embarrassment. This is my main issue, and I'm vocal about it, because I know how it could and should be done, and plus, I want an Elio, but this existing team is going to kill my chance of owning one. The team should be kept but left to focus on what they are good at, design refinement, cost reduction, etc etc, and let another experienced team immediately take this company to where it should already be, and that's when real funding has a solid chance to happen.

Don't think for a moment I don't want this to happen. My issue is not with the car, nor with people here, its with the mismanagement. Aptera can look back all it wants post mortem, but mismanagement killed that company as well, and the same tune is happening yet again. No one has to believe my opinion, resume, experience, insight etc, just do your own homework, and you'll spot the pattern in play, easy enough.

As has been referenced before on this forum, the ist production Elio is the most expensive, somewhere around 200 million+. Each subsequent Elio brings the cost down. It was ever thus in MFG., particularly in a "Start-up". That's just the real world folks & the Elio team is very acquainted with the realities, don't kid yourself. If the Elio has a chance of success
(& I'm betting it does) it will be because the Elio team has convinced the BIG MONEY BOYS that this concept has legs & can give a ROI....................that is the not so simple truth.

Fans of the Elio itself is one thing, fans of the management team/company is another.

This is a "funding alternatives" thread, not a "fan" thread. The "discussion" centers on funding, if, how, when, and probability of it even happening.

So far the team has poorly executed on securing only 1/4 of the funding they were already supposed to have, with zero news or updates from them.

For the big money boys to buy into funding the 150M+, they also have to buy into the probability of mass volume sales, and a plant that can execute on that demand, for the price advertised, period.

After the launch stage, they will steadily need influxes of hundreds of millions in order to build out the infrastructure and plant capacity to handle the volume they need, to be PROFITABLE.

At this point, there are zero indication that there is a compelling demand beyond early adopters. So, if any of you have any brilliant ideas to help Paul convince the big money boys to pony up, which explains how such a demand to be profitable means outselling the Honda Civic, well I'd be curious to hear all about this brilliant idea.

A thought to ponder.
'Deductive reasioning' leads me to believe that this new Whattheelf poster is paid by some one to Trash Paul Elio,and our belief that this will happen. He has posted 41 long mess. since this last Monday, this is Wed., three days. Does he not eat/ sleep, or do things ordinary people do? Is it possible that some one out there is getting scared of what Paul Elio can/will do??
Some where I mentioned that this forum was going to be 'A Hell of a Ride" just like when I ride my Elio home from La.
