I was on the sacramento air show, and got to see the Elio in person, great car I really like the design.
However when testing the seats, the front seat was comfortable, and it could lean back a decent amount not as much as I would have liked, since I am old fashioned and like it when seats lean all the way back, not a partial lean.
however the back seat has a clearance problem, the height of the roof is very low where the back seat is located, so for tall people the back seat is very uncomfortable, hopefully this problem will get fixed before the elio goes on production, otherwise the back seat will be useless for tall persons, it needs at lest 4 more inches in height, ideally a little more.
I am 6'1" and I was very uncomfortable on the back seat, had to lean my head forward creating an extremely uncomfortable position, however the front seat did not have this problem, and was quite comfortable.

You're not the only one to make this observation, and although the prototype isn't built yet, they are planning to provide 2" more headroom back there

admitting the price to have wi-fi bluetooth, etc will be $2000. FOR ME shows real honesty

next I would like to read someone admit you will NEVER drive away in a new ElioMobile for $6800.

no way !

Dealer Prep
shipping
tax title license
etc

$10,000. to get one in your garage !

I get that, but have never heard any car company list the price of their vehicles with all the extras added. They list the base price.

You're referencing OTD (out the door) no car ad or dealer's commercial ever posts that price, and more often than not, if you were to buy a "base car" with no extras they usually don't have one in stock and will need to be ordered, or the'll check other dealers in the area, and just as amazingly they don't have one either. One of the super benefits of the ELIO is you will be able to buy a base model for whatever the final price, no hassle - but you'll NEVER drive off a car with the base price Dealer Undercoating, gas tires, pin stripping, extended warrantee will also jack the price, and gives the dealership plenty of wiggle room to give you a break off the sticker price, and prove what a tough customer you are that drives a hard bargain
I think you will be very close to 10k, maybe with a few inexpensive extras.
Your right no way- but no Bulls_ _t either

Show me where Paul ever said you would.

The $2000 option includes a whole bunch more than just Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

The title of this thread is very misleading. o_O

I'm confused as to what that random engine image has to do with anything in your post?

There are no DEALERS so there is no dealer prep.
If you pick it up at the plant no shipping
Tax title and license are not part of the price, and you can't buy any car without them.

There are those of us out there that are counting on the $6800.00 price as one of the reasons we are buying the Elio. That price is one of the things that attracted you too! I think that because of tall the publicity regarding the MPG's plus the Price, if Elio is not able to deliver a basic Elio with the amenities that they promised (AC, power locks and windows), which is very basic, then there will be alot of negative press and bad feelings about the company. If they had brought a new car to market with a lower than normal price tag with higher than normal MPG's but without making such grand claims, things would have been different. But the media campaign puts an enormous amount of pressure on Elio to deliver on his claims!

Elio hasn't let you down on price yet, there are just those here who insist they are smarter than the known facts.

So they make up some things like dealer prep to worry those that need the price to be low.

The last time I heard Paul (like we're old pals) speak on the radio. He was still talking of the same base price. Until Elio says that the price will be higher just ignore the doom and gloom folks.

They are just spewing so that they can later say 'I told you so!"

Again, I have never heard of a car company advertising the price of their vehicles to include tax, title, tag, any kind of prep fees (and even though there are no dealer and you pick it up at the plant, they have said there still might be a prep/delivery fee. I think , if I remember correctly, that Paul doesn't want to charge it but other memebers of the team say they should).

Any ad on TV or print always has an astrick by the "base" price/MSRP and the fine print shows all the added required fees. Elio will be no different and we haven't been promised anything different.
