The best guess is they have not started building yet.

I think it's reasonable to think that month 0 on Elio Motors timetable is February 1 - when they close the offering, though they have not verified that. For the first couple of months they will be releasing the engineering drawing to partners e.g. body panels, wiring harness, etc. The vehicles will be built pretty much at the same time over a three to four week period. According to EM, the engineering vehicles will be built on a pilot manufacturing line to simulate the production build so that issues with the process or parts can be addressed by various engineering and components teams. Yes everything is dependent on the stock offering, though we do know that it was successful and they will be building the 25 engineering vehicles with that money. Below is the timeline Elio Motors used to illustrate how they expect the process to flow. I still think we will know before August whether the ATVM will happen or not and whether Elio Motors will go into production or, potentially, go bust. I think this is very exciting, and slightly patriotic to watch as the story unfolds in an age when most manufacturing is done overseas and knowing this company's dedication to US manufacturing.

I thought Paul said in one of the Detroit Auto Show interviews that they had already begun working with suppliers to get the parts for the Es. I interpreted that to mean that things like the schematics etc. were already out.

I thought the same, but if all the schematics and specifications were out indicating an engineering and design freeze wouldn't we have had a completed P5 tested/certified and ready to start the E-Builds?

How do we find out when the Elio Credit Card is going to be issued? It would be good to start running up the total so the Elio will be about paid off at delivery.

I don't think they'll be issuing the cards until delivery (or perhaps very near). At the very least they would have to wait until production was fully underway. The best thing to do for now would be to put a little each paycheck into a savings account (or coffee can, or whatever your prefered savings method).

"Working on the Es" is a broad statement than can mean a lot of different things. They may simply be compiling a list of parts or working on the schedule.

That is unlikely. What is likely is it was a reference to the supplier summits.

Maybe. But I don't think so, I'm still thinking a couple more weeks though before they release the final engineering drawings that would verify the parts specs.
