Will Elio motors keep taking stock reservations after they reach $25 million so the extra investors can make up for the earlier fake investors?
I would think so. I got a feeling the numbers of what will be really invested vs what is pledged will be VASTLY different.

I'm afraid you're right and hope that you're wrong! It's really impossible to have a real feel for the number of people who are fake, or who "sober up" when confronted with writing an actual check (or plastic), or who were just in love with the idea but can't afford it, or whose kids need braces, etc.

I know I bid in small, but do expect to honor my pledge ... and figure most pledgers who are Elio reservation holders will do likewise. We were told that
reservation holders made 72% of the total pledges, but that was a week ago and a lot of water has churned through the sluice gates since then! Btu if that percentage holds, I think it is a good omen for a high pay-up-when-the-time-comes percentage.

Yes, from a self-interest point of view, if you want an Elio and to support the company, maxing out your reservation is the way to go. But buying into the company makes a different kind of statement. Looked at another way, if 6,000 people reserved a car at 1,000 each, that's 6 million bucks for Elio. But if 6,000 people actually invest at amounts over 1,000 -- well, right now, that looks like $21 million for Elio -- with correspondingly greater risk for the investor.

But sometimes it just feels good to get in on what may prove to be the ground floor and immensely profitable 10 years from now.
I like to think that $1000 "invested" (indication of interest) could actually be what tips the scales at the DOE for an even greater multiplier effect - which is in my self-interest because I believe the loan will be critical to accelerating production. Note, I say "critical" and not "essential", because there are still other avenues if that doesn't materialize.

FWIW, I am both reserved and invested, so I have skin in the game...

Interesting. I was quite conservative in what I indicated I'm willing to invest, I'm more interested in what others are interested in doing at this stage. So, if EM does come through with the offering, I'll likely put more money in than I indicated. I'm very curious how many might have a similar approach.

right now upgrading to a $1000 All In reservation is our priority .... a decision as to additional money being invested in the crowd funding will be made after seeing the terms offered for the investment
