Elio And Gas Prices

My first job was as a pump jockey, and gas was about 30 cents a gallon. A few years later while driving in the family car, my father noticed some billboards and commented, "Look at that -- gas is cheaper than milk." My mother looked at him and responded, "So, drink gas!"

I can remember my father having gas delivered to the farm underground fuel tank by the local co-op for 19 cents a gallon. One of my best friends father owned the local Chevron station and I remember in the early 70's when the price of gas hit 65 cents a gallon and was predicted to go to a dollar a gallon. He said 'nobody will pay a dollar a gallon for gas' My comment at that time was 'what is your alternative are you going to buy a horse?
I saw and heard on the news that the price of gas is going to dip under $3.00 a gallon and I must confess, my first thought was 'Dammit I would save more money if the price of gas was higher

In two or three years if gas prices spike.........because of the Elio lowering demand..............battery technology will have been implemented to increase range 4X, eliminating range anxiety, at a significantly lower cost............BOOM! ............a feasible electric Elio option.

Over all cost of the car divided by the cost of miles driven will never be cheaper than the Elio till cars are running on air, or one comes along that is cheaper and gets more MPG. JMO

If I did it right. The first tank of gas at $3.00 a gal at 84 mpg. will cost you around $10 a mile with a steady drop till you pay it off. If you pay cash for the Elio, it will cost you $.04 a mile at 84 mpg.

Gotta believe the American made and $6,800 price will still keep them selling. Just makes sense on so many levels.

If Oil goes below $70.00 a barrel they will start to shut down the shale oil fields in western ND. It costs them $70.00 a barrel to pull it out of the ground. Then again they may start dumping the oil and start capturing the natural gas their burning off right now!
