Elio And Gas Prices

I see it as a double-edged... Twinkie. lol GOOD that gas prices are going down now. Then when the Elio arrives for me, gas prices won't bother me at ALL any longer. :-)

As for desireability for the Elio with gas prices below $3, there might be a few folks that think they could pass on it. But anyone with any kind of budgeting skills will see that if you want a vehicle to commute, might as well get one with the best mpg around.

Yeah, I just can't see passing up a new car, with all the built in perks the Elio has, for a used car that $6800+/- will buy. I shudder to think of what a person with that budget might end up with. I've had one or two of those.

Getting good mileage will save money no matter what the price. I also like the price range. The Elio is just the kind of transportation I need use for work and back. Also, if it works out, I might take the Elio on some cross-country trips with that great mileage.

I paid $2.90 a gal. today for 28 gals. of 87 octane, 10% ethanol gas. That was $0.40 cents off with King Soopers ( Kroger ) card. It still cost me over $81.00 to fill the car and put 15 gal in gas cans. I usually buy 85 octane, 10% ethanol that would have been $2.76 a gal. but planning a trip to lower elevation where I need 87 oct. In the tank. That amount usually lasts us a month for car and truck. I could have filled the Elio 3 1/2 times and would have lasted 3 months or more. So under $3 or over $4 I'm still gonna save money.

I would buy one even if gas was less than a dollar. I am sure it wont be any cheaper in the future. Imagine it @ 5$ or more wont you be glad to have sn Elio then?

I remember buying gas for 25 cents a gallon, I also remember buying gas for 5 dollars a gallon. While I know I'll never again see 25 cent gas. I can't say the same for 5 dollar gas. As for the currant dip in gas prices below 3 dollars a gallon, that just means I'm not saving as much money with an Elio but I'm still saving money, but that's just part of it for me, I'm looking forward to commuting in an inexpensive American made autocycle that's fun to drive and turns heads wherever I go. Man if you aint having fun what's the point?

I read a article about how Big Oil Company's want the price of gas in the USA, to be the same as Europe... which is close to $5 a gallon if not more... ( not a fact...swag )

Big Oil is worried that new Electric & hybrid vehicles coming out on the market will cause the amount of gas used per day to drop... loss $$

I could see them not liking the Elio... I told my local gas station guy about my Elio... it did not bring a smile to his face, when I said 84mpg... 8 gallon tank... 670 miles per tank...

Closed his mouth and said his sales would go down if the Elio ever became very popular... I said it already is... 35,000 already placed money down, and it is a year away to market... So it is going to very popular... just wait and see...

EM is going to sell a lot of Elio over time... glad to be at the start....
