That is a huge market demographic for future Elio Owners.........Retirement Communities across the country! Just met a couple that live in the Villages vacationing in my home town of Coeur d'Alene, ID. That's alot of Geezers!
Not in its current form though. To be favored by retirement communities I think 3 things must happen (1) separate doors for front and rear seats (2) be higher off the ground (3) non-bucket seats.

In the last few days the gas prices have taken a notable dip and from what the news reports say will continue lower, with sub-$3/gal possible if not probable. The reports also say the price will again rise as summer gets close (think Memorial Day weekend). Do you think this will have an effect on reservation numbers in the coming months? Are peoples memories so short as to think gas conservation is a thing of the past?
One certainty is that gas Will go back up. even if there was a little dip in reservations on the short term, the demand overall will return when prices rise again. By the time the vehicle is available for non-reserved purchase anything might have happened. I just wonder how much reservations matter at this point. There are enough already to prove demand, and I understand that reservations are not intended as making up a large part of overall financing. Who knows, gas might hit $10 per gallon here and there might be a waiting list for these things for YEARS. To say nothing of the world-wide market in which gas is ALREADY in that range and LOTS of peop!e would find 84 mpg an outright GODSEND.

don't be to quick to generalize ...72 living in a retirement community drive a Toyota MR2 (at the time closest ride to two wheels -after 50 yrs on bikes)-LCG, low bucket seats and mid-engine makes a fun drive- I will sell it (after I get my factory notice) easily to like minded seniors. I do get the impression that just among this forum there are many old bikers, now looking forward to a "seniors" car! lol
My only worry is I get the factory call, before Gabrials!

OK, Josh, you are going to have to explain your reasoning. I'm retired and I like the Elio the way it is. We have already been told the production Elio will be higher off the ground than the P4. If it has separate doors they are going to have to be those silly doors like on the Honda Element. Bucket seats are more comfortable. So what exactly are your points. :-) Z

Remember where Josh is coming from......at that age they think older people are all using walkers, wheel chairs....
