Mark Frohnmayer, CEO of Arcimoto was kind enough to make some comments in this thread regarding his mission and development of the SRK EV. He also shared kind words regarding the Elio and wishes EM future success. Both startup companies missions are similar in creating an affordable, high mpg/mpgE, safe, made in the USA, 2 passenger, three wheeler commuter.

The SRK EV may not meet some individual needs for long distance or cross country driving, but the fact is most will buy the SRK or the Elio for shorter daily commutes. Both vehicles will serve primarily as AND or second vehicles and not be a families only source of transportation. Neither vehicle checks all the boxes for all the markets, but are both serious contenders in disrupting the wonderful world of transportation as we know it.

The SRK's official Gen 8 Launch is coming soon. It is going to be a blast to ride, perhaps quicker, more agile/maneuverable, more fun with more smiles per gallon than the Elio. Mark Frohnmayer's SRK design and engineering specifications deserves some respect even from EV naysayers. The Arcimoto SRK will be a serious contender in the enclosed three wheeler commuter market and I'm looking forward to a test ride. I do know the SRK allows for the functional use of drive up windows.

Three SRKs fit into one regular parking space. Just one more advantage of the smaller footprint three wheelers.

This recent Translogic Arcimoto interview and SRK test ride may be of interest to motorcycle enthusiasts.

I just caught this video today. Interesting vehicle. Price is right to replace my motorcycle and become a daily driver. Not sure what the range is. Wiki says 70 or 130 depending on battery, but was that before the Gen8's re-gen braking was added or after? Seems like a pretty big hump in the floor, which I would hope is space for batteries (although I saw one under the hood). Seems like such a small, light weight vehicle would do better than 70/130. Didn't Elon Musk allow the Tesla battery technology to be used for free? I wonder if that would help.

Too bad it is also targeted for late 2016 like Elio.

Rickb, what did you say the top speed was on that Arcimoto? 45? Or did they get it up to highway speeds?
Coss, the SRK specs at 0-60 mph in 7.5 seconds, top speed 85 mph, range 70 or 130 miles, 2 options for the enclosed cabin.

I'm going to guess somewhere around 45mph of city traffic (what it's designed for). Electrics can't take advantage of regeneration on the highway and drag is a major factor, so the range suffers a bit.
