Pretty sure this will happen and at the end of next year.
Now that being said. The price may have to go up after they see what the real demand is.
I don't think it will take off like gangbusters they will probably do 10,000 or so in a year as did CanAm with their original roadster.
You will have to pry the four wheeled cars from the "creatures of habit" with a crowbar.
But all of us here on the forum that are already in will get theirs for the stated price.:)
And if sales are "not-so-much" think of the rare and unique vehicle you will own.:D
MK
I disagree, I think this vehicle will feel so much like a conventional 4 wheeled car, from the drivers seat, that it will be incredibly easy to transition to three wheeled transportation, especially when considering the advantages, IE $6,800, 84 mpg, 5 star safety rating, and American made. What's not to love? Who else sells anything even remotely close? NO ONE!

The quickest way to start an argument is to mention religion or politics. :)

That said, I can't let Alfred's comment go by without making a stand. I agree with Zelio... there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with saying "I have faith in Elio Motors". It's fine if Alfred wants to steer clear of religious fanatics, but Zelio's comment was a very harmless, simple statement.

I'm keeping the faith in Elio Motors.

And besides, faith does come into play in business. You have faith if you own a business, that customers will buy your products and services. Even if you as a consumer have bought a product or service before, you have faith that it will perform just as the last one that you bought.

For a reservation on an Elio, sure you can put money down, non-refundable, and choose to have no faith, confidence or trust that it will happen. But how can a person be happy doing that?
Would make for a boring life! Might as well just hide under the bed so nothing bad can happen.

I have faith - no,scratch that, I am convinced that finally, the end of the internal combustion engine is here! Meanwhile, while we are waiting for the transition, it would be nice to have something like the Elio to reduce the pain at the gas pump.
Don't think you are going to see the end of the IC engine any time soon. It replaced the horse and buggy I for one am not going to regress.

This thread is totally rollercoaster. For a couple of days we have momentum towards its-gonna-happen-baby and then hasta and it's back to doubtsville. I got no faith myself but no hate for those that do. But 'faith' and 'probability' are probably just two words for the same thing and the probabilities are very strong this will happen. It would be quite interesting to get a Vegas line on this. Now I'm thinking easily 10:1 for, up from 3:1 a couple of days ago.

All it'll likely take is one bad day on the market and then someone, who has got a lot of risk for low potential yields, will have to start looking for a big win. Maybe the market having done so well these past two years has actually slowed EM down? I mean if I was already making huge gains just tracking the S&P and playing a lot of golf, why take the risk of investing in yet-another-weird-car and all he due dillengence that goes with that?

Well, seeing that you have a reservation number, you must have a thousand reasons to believe it will happen.
I know I do!

Well, I'd be a liar if I said I didn't care about the money, but the fact that I threw down came well after I had looked deeply into the Elio's prospects. Risk calculation first, wallet second.

To be honest I don't have a lot riding emotionally on the outcome - heck I didn't even go see the darn thing at the Miramar Air Show, which is five miles from my house. I'm taking the same view I do with investing - never love your stock. If it happens I'll be tickled of course but if it doesn't I won't have any regrets about taking a flyer on something terrifically cool.

Faith and probability are not the same.......Faith = complete trust in a person or idea, probability leaves some room for doubt.

I TRUST Elio will happen based on proven track record and progress to date.

Yeah Rickb, I think you got me there. They are not the same thing. I was getting smashed on a nice bottle of wine my wife bought me last night when I wrote that and re-reading it makes me wonder if that was such a good choice. The writing, not the wine. But I'm obviously a probability cat and yeah, if trust is somewhere between faith and probability, I'll walk that road with you brutha.
