Thursday game:

Sea 20, SF 3 - When a team wins an NFL game, they always look good when you see the final score and it's a 17-pt win. But I'm not sold on Seattle yet. They are 3-4, the O-line of Sea is not very good, they allowed 5 more sacks last night on their extremely mobile and elusive QB Wilson. He threw 2 INTs and 1 TD, but was efficient in 18-24 for 256 yds, 43 yds of it came on a bomb to Lockett for the TD. Sea did run the ball very well, for 176 yds. SF sorry to say is worse. SF defense is lacking and O-line is bad. They won in turnovers 2-0, but... 1-11 on 3rd down. Ouch. Kaep was 13-24 for 124 yds. Double ouch. O-line gave up 6 sacks, triple ouch. Team ran for 61 yds. Quad ouch.

Here's Jim Mora's rant as Saints coach in 1996 when it applies so well to the 49ers last night: "We couldn't do diddly poo offensively, we couldn't make a first down, we couldn't run the ball, we couldn't complete a pass. We sucked."

Seahawks traded away some key players before the season . Percy Harvin and James Carpenter to name two. Fortunately , they landed on the Jets :D

Yes, and apparently Seattle let go / traded 3 of their o-line from last year. One interesting fact though, that goes against my thought that Seattle is not a playoff team: last year after 6 games they were 3-3. This year after 7 games they are 3-4. So we'll see.

You Jets have a big game vs. NE this weekend. Hope the Jets can get a W.

Besides losing the majority of the OL the 2 remaining have never been that great. Okung has never panned out to what they expected from him.
We also lost our DC (you're welcome Atlanta) and the close knit group that they were had fallen apart. Since the last game, most of the defense jumped on a jet and went to Hawaii for a couple of days to get their "group spirit" back; looks like it did some good.
Our OC started out with a chip on his shoulder because of his crap call at the end of the SB; it wasn't until Lynch scored last week that things started to change.
The salary cap is/was the cause for the Seahawks having to give up a lot of people; but I can't deny that Russell Wilson did deserve to get paid what he did; along with others. (Dam Salary Caps)

Yeah that salary cap is a double-edged sword for sure. It makes teams that are loaded with talent decide which players to pay and which ones to not pay. The ones you don't pay, you can trade or let them explore free agency.

From what I heard in the sports news, it was in Seattle's best interest to pay Wilson, the big DB that didn't play the first few games, the LB (sorry I'm forgetting names). And sure enough, you can't pay everyone.

In a mostly unrelated news item, my Chiefs let go of Dwayne Bowe WR after last year. Cleveland snarfed him up and guaranteed him $9 mill. So far this season, Bowe's production has been... 2 targets, 0 receptions, a lingering injury, and now he's about 6th on the depth chart. It's under-the-radar decisions like this that make teams like Cleveland bad for so long.
